Should be a good Raw. Who is peoples prediction to win?

My money is solidly on Del Rio, presuming he qualifies on Smackdown. Given the whole fact they keep harking on about his royal backgrounds during commentary, it would fit his character.

I'd love for Bryan Daniels to win it though. That would make me mark. I just can't see it happening.

Alberto Del Rio defs Danielson and becomes the new King of The Ring

that = 7 matches + something to continue the main event storyline and set up TLC

so Orton vs Barett again would be likely with Barett saying that had it not been for Cenas interferance he would be the champ now and should be no.1 contender but Orton as ex champ has a rematch clause so they fight but this time a no.1 contenders match to become The Miz's opponent at TLC.

Orton gets the win after John Cena now as a fan at ringside distracts wade allowing the viper to hit an RKO on him.

If Sheamus wins this cue the return of "The King of Kings" HHH but id still say that his rivalry with Morrison will continue with neither being crowned King so he can get his win back at TLC and have some momentum going into a feud against a returning Triple H. Id imagine they will let things calm down a bit too and allow the era of Awesomeness to begin so hold of on Hunters return for a while thus i dont expect Sheamus or Morrison to in this and although he is getting pushed i doubt they would give Zeke a KOTR push so danielson is the Raw guy id expect to win it if a Raw guy was to do so but I think this will be a SD superstars chance to shine/get repackaged.

The following wrestlers won qualifying matches at tonight's WWE Smackdown tapings and will compete in next week's King of the Ring tournament:
-Alberto Del Rio
-Kofi Kingston
-Drew McIntyre
-Cody Rhodes
They will join Sheamus, John Morrison, Daniel Bryan and Ezekiel Jackson from Raw to make up the 8 King of the Ring participants.

Del Rio's getting booked like a main-eventer/a big deal so I think he's fine without winning KOTR. Dashing Cody could really use it though.

Swagger's missed a good few PPVs since becoming champ so I'd be happy to see him. He seems to have slipped back down to the level as if he never was champion.

I think either Danielson or Del Rio should win. It would be great to see Danielson crowned as the king of pro wrestling and it would be great to see Del Rio's promos if he won.

I reckon BH is right about Sheamus' and Morrison's matches with the interference. I can see this feud lasting till the Rumble.

Don't think it would do anything to evolve the characters of Rhodes, Kofi or Big Zeke if they won.

Anyways its KOTR which will be the main talking point. The smart money is on Del Rio or Sheamus but the E may swerve us, and if they do Drew may be a decent bet.

The Miz will begin his reign and they will probably set up a match with Orton at TLC.

Punk is on commentary as well.

3 Hour shows can be dodgy, but fingers crossed for this one.

I am actually in the happy position that based on those 8, I wouldn't mind who won the whole thing.

I think Sheamus needs it the least given he's already been an established MEr. The other 7 would all benefit greatly from the win though and I am genuinely excited for some of the matches.

I can't see it being Del Rio. I would say there is a 99% possibility of Mysterio costing him a match. If that is left until the final, then a face would logically win. Would love that to be Daniel Bryan. They could have that happen earlier either, but would be very surprised if Rey does not do a run-in.

It is pretty wide open with most having a good chance of getting the nod. Morrison and Sheamus are likely to meet as well given their history. So I have Daniel Bryan as favourite with Sheamus and Morrison just behind. It would actually suit a lot of the characters as well (Imagine Cody as King, he could have a laugh with that gimmick). But I could see any of the last 8 winning. Jackson would not deserve it my view, but Vince loves a big guy!

I can see Bryan or Del Rio getting it but I wouldn't mind any of those winning but Jackson. Even Sheamus. Hell, it would have been better if Riley had won the qualifier and was given the opportunity by Miz to become prom king.

Part of me wants McIntrye to get it just to see if they start calling him the Last King of Scotland but it makes sense storywise that Sheamus wins, declares himself the new King of Kings and eats a pedigree for it somewhere down the line.

Maybe have Bryan win and have Regal take out his frustrations for getting left off the tournament to start a fued and see out his apparent retirement.

The E have to be given credit for this set up.
Usually they have 2 definite possibilities to who will win and everyone else is just filler, but that is not the case with this one.

I'm quite looking forward to this.

Like is it gonna be Raw stars versus Raw stars, and Smackdown vs. Smackdown, with a Smackdown Vs. Raw Final? Or will it all be drawn at "Random"?

Just voted there for Sheamus who could do with a win after push damaging loses vs Santino and Morrison.I think Mysterio is going to cost Del Rio the crown.Hopefully then Del Rio gives him a stiff totally non-PG beatdown.
As for the person who said they want a 20+ minute Danielson vs Del Rio match I agree but its highly unlikely. WWE always make a hash of 3 Hour shows.

No votes yet for Cody Rhodes or Drew but both have an excellent chance of winning. A heel king nearly always works better than a face. Danielson might be the exception as it would continue the push.

Lot's of potentially good matches but last time WWE did KOTR on Raw the longest match was six minutes and most of the others went about three so I'll wait and see.

I ended up with Bryan simply because it would:

1) Give smarks a smoochie from WWE they would not forget
2) Give Cole something to smark about as commentator how the internet love boy now won it
3) Expect run in on Del Rio to cost him the chance and same for Sheamus

The short match complaint used to be thrown at Tna a lot but wwe is nearly worse for it now.It seems that the 3 hour shows have even shorter matches.There will be a load of drychat tonite with Miz,Orton,Nexus & the Gigantic 5 year old John Cena(who shouldn't be mentioned if he is meant to be Fired).I'd have the KotR final main event Raw to show how important it is for a Wrestlers Career to win it.

The thing is though that they've got to...

1. Have a minimum of 7 matches due to the KOTR which can be difficult to squeeze in and give a decent amount of time to.
2. Make sure that the two guys who are finalists aren't wrecked from having three matches in one night.

You kind of have to forgive them on nights like tonight when some matches are cut short...

Tough to predict who will win KOTR tonight, but I think John Morrison will win. I wish they would put the Quarter-Final fixtures on the website.

I want Del Rio to win, but I think Rey Mysterio will cost him a victory.

7 matches in 3 hours is plenty of time if they cut out any silly backstage segments. I would quite like an all-wrestling show for once, similar to what TNA had on impact not too long ago when they had to accommodate for the ECW reunion PPV. But that is unlikely to happen as they will need to find time for Miz, Nexus, Orton and Juan Cena.

The King should always be a heel imo, it just works far better that way

Who definitely won't win it imo (in my head anyway): Sheamus(too big for it), Bryan(doesn't need it, already has big push on), Morrison(would just be an awful King), Cody(A Dashing King? Em, don't think so), Kofi(Just plain no)

That leaves Del Rio, Drew & Zeke

I still think they have big plans for Zeke, but he doesn't real fit the "King" character does he? So I'll rule him out

Drew McIntyre is perfect for it, any gimmick like 'The Chosen One' is ready made for King of the Ring, but he's done nothing of note in months, and I see no reason for the E to change that - He gets no crowd reaction, his matches are boring, and well, he sucks. Ruling him out

That leaves one guy, the guy I'm 95% sure will win, KING ALBERTO DEL RIO

I think Sheamus will win it to pave the way for Hunter's return. I wouldn't mind Drew winning it to give him some of the momentum back that he's lost the last number of months. Looking forward to seeing who gets it.

Sheamus over Drew (which i would put my money on for match of the night. As they have some serious background from Iww.)

Going by those brackets I could see a Sheamus-Morrison final given that they have been feuding in recent weeks. I can see Rey helping Daniel Bryan to victory against del Rio - a Danielson/Morrison semi-final could be great if it's given enough time. A heel usually works best as the KOTR winner so I reckon Sheamus will win it, although I'd rather see them give it to someone like Cody who would benefit alot more from the win.
