We could gaurantee ourselves entrance into the knockout stages this evening if we beat Bremen, but we have VDV and Bale looking doubtful, it is looking increasingly more likely Defoe will play instead in a 4-4-2

    Gomes
    Hutton--Gallas--Kaboul--BAE
    Lennon--Jenas--Modric--Bale/Gio/Kranjcar(depending on who's fit)
    Defoe--Crouch

Really hope we can win today and make it through it would really help if we could secure it today and not have to worry about getting a draw at twente.

Looking forward to this one. Hoping we can win and secure qualification, then focus on the league until the next round. I'm hoping to see Niko on the left as he needs playing time and has been scoring for fun for Croatia.

bremen are 5/1 to win this game i think that is a massive price against a spurs team that cant defend and is missing VDV and maybe even bale.

    3-1 to bremen @ 50/1;)

We really need a win here it would make a huge difference not to have to go to Twente and get a draw. Hoping Bale is fit and VDV is ok hopefully nothing serious however knowing our luck he could be out for the rest of the season

If Bremen win I'll be really suprised. More likely to be hammered judging by their recent performances.

We can hope :D it would be typical spurs to capitulate here though :(

Crouch and Pav up front in a 4-4-2 tonight. Rafa hasn't made it, but Gareth starts. JD on bench. Full line-up soon...

30% - Tottenham's goals-to-shots ratio of 30% is the best of any side in the Champions League this season. Deadly.

Looks like a 4-2-3-1 for Bremen with Wagner up front.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,814 ✭✭✭Nemanja91

Why is there a star next to Jenas? He is hardly yer' start player

Jenas is one yellow away from suspension.

Jenas is one yellow away from suspension.

He will be better off getting sent off so, clear the cards!

Werder have been very poor we haven't gotten out of first gear not sure if we're trying to put Woy off for the weekend maybe Aaronn Hunt and Marin the only real spark Werder must be well well into double figures for fouls committed at this stage

Meant to mention the spurs forum dead as well one other posting there at the mo reckon we're all too afraid to post till the final whistle :p

Ahh, only saw the highlights of it at half time on sky, fantastic finish, Modric's goal was stylish, brilliant take down, made a fool of the defender.

Not long left now for Schaaf. What a steal Spurs were -1 at 13/10!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,827 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

This has been shockingly comfortable for Spurs - we haven't got out of second gear at any stage after the first five minutes and yet we probably should be 5-0 up. Werder are just shocking!

    Positives for Spurs:
    Last 16 :D
A first clean sheet since City on the first day of the season.
Defoe with another 30 minutes under his belt and looking sharp.
Lennon and Palacios looking like they are coming back to form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Can't remember the last time we controlled a game like that and kept an elusive clean sheet excellent bit of business no one looks to of over exerted themselves Bale didn't even hit top speed once.

    "Are you Arsenal in disguise?"

    I lolled. Well played :D

Palacios still putting a lot of passes astray

lennon looks like he coming back in to form , think both lennon and bale will give the pool full backs a torid time on sunday.

Well done Spurs, last 16 with a game to spare in a group that looked very tough at the start. Anyone who goes to the Lane will know they've been in a game.
