Had a 165 in the past with Multi-power. Definitely had a bit of a whine when in high. A lot of people won't buy a tractor with multi-power, but in actual fact, it was a pretty reliable and useful addition. Gave a great saving on clutch wear by allowing you to increase power without changing down a gear if you were going up hill.

Have a 135 multi-power, it has always whined in the high range for as long as I can remember. Nothing to get excited about. It's a handy thing to have alright, as long as you remember to keep it in high going down a hill!

I did not know they made 135's with multi power, Id say they would be very few about. Reilig is right about the whine when in high multi power well on the 165's and 188's anyway. There is no engine breaking when in low multi power which can make drawing silage downhill exciting if you forget.

Don't pay over the odds for it. One without the MP would be more saught after - that's what i found when selling the 165 anyway. As I said, MP is handy and I haven't known them to give bother (well once with a diy mechanic), but people just don't like the unknown.

That used to be the case alright, but these days Multi-Power is becoming something of a rarity so they're a lot more valuable. You could pay €1000-€1500 more for a tractor with MP

they should definetly have a whine, this is normal and to be expected. they are a rarity and from the autions ive been at they always get a higher price than those without. you can get lucky and get one already plumbed with 2 auxiliary hydraulics which was not unusual on a mp. Mine has 4 and i use it to wrap with a mchale 911.

Swear to god there came 20 people to look at my 165 this time 2 years ago and not one would touch it because of the MP. Ended up selling it back to the guy that I had bought it off 4 years earlier - he had done the engine in it before I bought it and he knew that it was a gem. However, 6 months after I left it in his yard, it was still there. He claims that he eventually did sell it, but at a loss.

cant believe that. i hp 2 135's both mp, a 148 mp, and a 168 mp. i wouldnt buy a 100's without it. perhaps im too picky ??

Well il prob not hang onto this too long i have a few jobs i need a wee tractor with dual wheels for, i think it may interest a colletor too, it has new mudguards and a very good duncn cab, all lights work, swept axle (1967)perfect bonnet, new rear tyres, wee bit a wear on the linkage which u can expect its done nothin only transport box work this past 20 yrs i know the owner, engine blows a wee bit but i mite stick a set a rings on er, it runs really well and starts easy
Why it might interest a collector is that it has multipower and it has the original brown tax book, reg no *ZP 135 !!!!!!!!!

Tis a dam quick wee thing on the road, the whine im talking about is always there even when not moving an you rev it it sounds like a pump speeding up if that makes sense, would the filter be dirty?is it a big job to clean the filter, is the unit serviced by the back end oil or gearbox oil?

I think it is a pump. When its engaged, it gives the extra torque. It would be a fast machine on the road allright. Been advised in the past not to go near the pump as it requires delicate adjustments by a trained professional (ie. my local mechanic (very skilled) was not willing to touch it)

Back end oil and gearbox oil are one and the same thing. Cleaning the filter is easy, getting it out in the first place is the complicated part
