ZOMBIE APOCADOPALYPSE!!

Not an entirely serious thread here but I was watching Zombieland and that new show Walking Dead recently and got to thinking about what forms of fitness would be most beneficial for surviving a zombie apocalypse and/or making your way in the post-apocalyptic world

Being good at sprinting would probably be a must. As would the ability to climb. What with zombies not being reknowed for their speed of climbing abilities.

Anyone any other suggestions for how to train for a terrifying future?

The ONLY time Crossfit becomes functional is during the imminent thread of a zombie attack.

    Brilliant thread.

Having read two of Max Brook's books and watched countless Zombie films i would advise you to work on HIIT and getting the most out of your body in high pressure situations (max HR)...that and arming yourself with a samaurai sword.
Speed and agility would be your allies so perhaps gymnastics?

Yip, I don't think even the Zombies in 28 Days later could catch this bloke!

Depends really on whether they'd be shuffling type or your 28 Days Later type.

If it's the former then frankly just decent cardio imo whereas if it's the former I can't see how anyone fit or otherwise in a built up area could survive for very long or in particular the initial breakout.

Fine :D There is always one! We shall say the type of zombie that was in the remake of the one where they're all stuck in the mall.

The start of that puts the absolute ****s up me.
