Thug mé faoi deara le déanaí go bhfuil cúpla duine de mo chuid mac léinn tar éis obair baile a thabhairt dom a bhfuil an chuma uirthi gur aistríodh ón mBéarla í. Is ar éigean go raibh mé in ann iad a thuiscint agus mhol mé do na mic léinn gan Google Translate a úsáid riamh arís.

Ní fheicim cás ar bith inar chóir Google Translate a úsáid mar gheall ar an easpa mór cruinnis atá air.

Cad iad bhur dtuairimí faoi Google Translate? Conas is féidir an leas is fearr a bhaint as?

My Irish is still quite poor, but I use google translate to check my own attempts at writing in Irish and then looking at the english translation.

tá sé ceart go leor le haghaidh focal amháin nó dhó, ach tar éis sin ní teanga í an Gaeilge chun aistriú direach ó béarla. tá sí ró liriciúil.
sampla easca: aithníonn ciaróg ciaróg eile - it takes one to know one. you'd never ever get that on google translate.

How would you know if your Irish was good but the Google Translation was bad?

Ná húsáid Google Translate le haghaidh aistriúcháin díreacha, is cacamas é.
    - chun na bunbhrí alt nuachtáin a thuiscint , tá sé ceart go leor

Don't use google translate for exact translations, it's woeful
    - To get the gist of an article, it is ok

Ar thug tú an obair ar ais dóibh ag rá leo í a dhéanamh as Gaeilge?
