What I'd like to see is Dara take over the show right in front of Tubbers. One suspects he could do with his eyes closed and one arm tied behind his back.

I'm watching in the hope that someone from the IMF will ring Tubridy during the show and tell him they are cutting his wages by 75%...

dara is a really funny comedian, RTE went down the tubes when he left. hes worth watching at least.

Lot of gaps in that schedule, unless Dara O'Briain is getting about 2 hours.

They usually have more information by now, are RTE waiting on IMF approval for their guestlist ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,257 ✭✭✭Squiggle

Stickman usually tweets about some of his guests but no mention today. Katie Price was in town yesterday - maybe she's on? Maybe they can't find anyone other than the aforementioned people above so I suppose Tubs will get Derek Davis, Anne Doyle and Marty Whelan on for some rivoting conversation . Think it will be the high stool for me tonight. :pac:

He'd still be massively overpaid given his "talent".

Some things Tubridy will say tonight:

To Dara O'Briain - "In these difficult times, it's great that you're here, making us all laugh and regaling us with hilarious anecdotes about life as an Irish emigrant in London"

To Shayne Ward - "In these difficult times, it's great that you, such a massive star, have graced us with your presence. Your parents emigrated from Ireland, didn't they?"

The Saw Doctors - "In these difficult times, it's great that you're still around, singing songs about emigration and all that"

    etc, etc...

Glad Dara is on - brilliant comedian, although never as funny on talk shows as when in front of a crowd and interacting with them. I asssume he is on to plug his new DVD - probably signing copies in HMV tomorrow too.;)

Other than Dara it is a poor line-up. Tommy Tiernan's wife? Tommy should be on himself as I would just love him to humiliate Tubs and make him squirm by going totally mad like he used to do with Pat. The more uncomfortable Tubs is made the better.

I wonder if there will also be a debate about the bail-out? Tubs FF love seems to be waning a little - he seemed delighted by Pat Rabbitte's rant about FF on Prime Time last night.

Tubs just tweeted about his other guests:
Talking State of the Nation with 3 newspaper editors tonight. Would like Twitterati thoughts on the week that was and beyond?

Those newspaper editors on The LLS panel will be

    Ger Colleran (The Star)
    Frank Fitzgibbon (Sunday Times)
    Aengus Fanning (Sunday Independent)

    Tubridy to Fanning:

Well Gus,your paper has been a cheerleader for the property barons and bankers through the bubble. You've got a number of members and hangers-on
of this vile administration contributing "articles".
And you employ Brendan O' Connor.
Why don't you go now and drink the hemlock?

Was his paper not fuelling the bubble with its property supplement?

All broadsheets made a mint from property porn. Ger Colleran is just an obnoxious tit.

as much as he is, he'd be the one most likely to punch anguish in the face. it's the sindo that's still trying to believe on one hand that a 3 bed house in dublin is worth more than 1m yoyo, while they print horseshyte from alison o'riordan at the same time.

@ raym, you forgot to add, he'll be asking all the guests if they remember anything about JFK.

Yeah, I found it hard to believe.. The ad was on RTE TWO about 20 minutes ago.. hang on forgot I can rewind back on WinTV... class... here is the script of the relevant part of the ad (which is actually for the Sunday Times)..
"this week in The Sunday Times, the country's favourite broadcaster Ryan Tubridy reveals that he's not ruling out a political career, and explains why Hilary Clinton is his kind of woman"...

I know it sounds like I made it up, but it's not.. unfortunately the man is a caricature of himself at this stage...

I will definitely watch Dara, I think he is hilarious but surely there are other guests that are kept unrevealed until the show starts? If there isn't , it sounds like a poor show tonight.

You need a very thick skin to be a politician. Ryan's as thin skinned as they come.

You see, that’s the thing with inbred FF’ers they don’t let their complete lack of intelligence, ability, morals, or integrity get in the way of their dreams. They just phone a relative and anything is possible.

Tubridy was threatening to quit twitter during the week because he didn't like the criticism he was getting on Friday nights.

The criticism on twitter is mild compared to what goes on here.

Naturally, I sent him a link to last week's boards thread, hope he read it.

Tubridy has his serious face on for the promo. As if he cares or has a clue. A paypacket of 10 grand a week will help him through the tough times.
