Which of the following would you recommend when taken as a post-workout supplement where the goal is increasing lean muscle mass and small increases of fat are acceptable?

If you have any additional comments or have any reasoning to back up your choice, e.g. taken multiple post-workout supplements and find your chosen one the best, feel free to add a comment.

If you like a different supplement better, select other and add a comment.

Well, it looks like this thread is a little more useful than the pre-workout thread as I haven't given enough options and everyone is selecting other on that one.

Judging by this thread, it looks like Creatine might be a good choice for me as an addition to my current protein shake. At the moment, I only take protein and fish oil supplements.

It's not like you can only have one or the other, you can have protein, creatine and dextrose post-workout if you want, there's no sacrifice.

I've heard a lot of people highlighting the importance of taking not only protein and carbs, but glucose after a workout. Would it be beneficial to eat one or two of those hard-boiled glucose sweets then?

Glucose/Dextrose is very cheap at myProtein. I'm actually considering ordering it and Creatine Monohydrate together with my next order of Protein. Based upon what I've read, I'll probably take Protein and Creatine when I'm cutting and add in Dextrose on a 50/50 ratio against the protein when I'm bulking. I'm a beginner so I wouldn't take this as advice in any way.

I knew there was some glucose in carbs. But didn't think it was sufficient. So you're telling me just carbs is enough with the protein? (i.e. pasta, pitta bread, banana etc.) Thanks!

    *brain explodes*

Glucose is a simple sugar, a carbohydrate, the most important carbohydrate.

Thanks for the advice, I understand now. But why bother giving it if you become impatient and infuriated by it?

Was just hard to figure out what you meant, that's all.
