How about answering a couple of simple questions.

    Will Eirigi be there?

Will the Socialist Workers Party be there?

As far as i know joe higgins is not a member of either of those two groups, hes a member of the socialist party. The point of your question?

Afraid I got to go to work tomorrow.... No doubt his cohort of crusties will turn up... Christ even Sinn Fein might show... And do what? Neither you or the socialist ideology you support has any ideas about how we get out of this mess bar give out about what "entitlements" are going to be cut.

I didn't ask whether Joe Higgins was a member of those groups, I asked whether they will be there and I note that you dodged the question.

A protest that includes extreme socialists will not attract a broad spectrum of the populace.

the people of this country are so uneducated when it comes to politics. its hard to believe. if you had half a brain...you would be going to protest outside the dept of finance tomorrow. regardless of who's or what is going to be there.

As far as i know joe higgins is not a member of either of those two groups, hes a member of the socialist party. The point of your question?

slightly pedantry but there was a recent left alliance agreed among some of the socialist groups which includes the socialist party and people before profit. people before profit are the SWP so if this is a united left alliance protest then the swp will be there (they'd be there anyway though no matter who organised it).

Any that's irrelevant, if you feel the need to protest then go, if you dont want to protest then dont go. If people want to protest but stay away because a handful of SWP will be there then they've basically surrendered their right to protest and handed their right over to the SWP instead.

Jesus, your right, imagine what would happen if we let sinn fein run the economy.......................

Or SWP / Joe Higgins / Eirigi / Labour (shock horror)

Truth is socialism or any part there of will NOT get us out of this mess.

I have no idea who is gonna turn other than Joe himself, whos an mep i might add.

I have no idea about the other two groups you mentioned, they are very welcome to turn if they want along with the rest of the country. Its a very sad tactic trying to polarize people into not going "because the boogy man from the left is gonna be there and im so afraid of been seen standing next to him".

Doing a dance on TV isn't my thing to be honest ,I'd have more chance of winning the X-factor than a protest making any difference.
We need money ,even the socialist party needs money. You can't keep your family warm by rubbing your hands together.

The extreme left have zero answers, just a load of hot air. Protest for the sake of protest is all they're good for since they don't actually have any practical solutions to the problems the country is in. Like another poster said, I have a job to be going to tomorrow.

    How ignorant!!!!

So people are protesting for fun or what???
Everyone has practical views and soloutions if u are willing to listen and not put them in a box on the left, right or wherever.

Whats your plan?? Vote for the same clowns who got us in this mess or the other side who let it happen?

Ur lucky to have a job as Im sure u know.
Protests show the people are unhappy as is the mood of a lot of people.

So if u dont think its needed then u must think the country is being run well.
And Im pretty sure thats not the case.

Ahh Joe Higgins. He always provided a bit of comic relief in the Dáil with his nonsensical ramblings. Remind me how may TDs the socialist party currently has in our national parliament? ;)

Let's not forget that he brought back the Nigerian "student" Olukunle Eluhanla after he had been deported. Higgins has no respect for the law and I can only imagine how many non-EU nationals he would flood the country with if he had his way. He is a Trotskyite communist proponent of a failed ideology.

In the words of Bertie Ahern "He will not pull people back into the failed old policies he dreamed up in south Kerry when he was a young fellow. Now go away."

Im afraid it is all that bad and this is precisely why. If we didnt sit on our asses and do nothing for so long over the last two years we wouldnt be in even a fraction of the scandal that exists now.

I think you're missing the point: That student had no right to be here. He was an illegal immigrant. I don't wish to sidetrack this thread anymore so if you can't get your head around this simple fact we can discuss it in another thread or via PM.

Also there is a long thread on "why it's in your interest NOT to protest at this time" currently in this forum. Perhaps you should skim some of it. Running riot and shouting socialist slogans while offering NO solutions isn't going to fix anything. Rather it gives foreign investors a very bad image of our country.

Sorry.... If we hadn't went off and guaranteed the entire financial system we wouldn't be in half the mess we're in. Anglo should have been let go to hell.

Try living in the real world will you for a moment... Or are you totally obvlious to what is happening at the moment?

Truth is all your cohorts do is protest. I wouldn't mind so much if you guys had anything to offer but the reality is that you don't.

You know what? Go ahead and stand out in the cold with the crusties tomorrow. Why should I care? I hope it lashes rain and you are rewarded with the swift blow of a Garda's baton like some of those moronic students.

You don't even have a united message. You don't know what you're protesting for. You're like Ian Paisley - no, no, no - without offering any solutions.

I predict Palestinian flags galore and a bunch of failed, unemeployed middle aged men with beards.

That is so true 35 billion or so maybe more. Saving it was not in the nations interest but IMO for FF and the golden few, probably FF stalwarts.

If you really wanted, you could use google and find all the coherence and alternatives you want at the click of a button, was even a link posted here 20mins ago by somone. This is not a policy thread. Youd be more at home on the anti protest thread so go away over there cheers.

Enough of beard hating already, theres much more serious things going on imo.

You have offered NO reason why anyone should support your protest. None. And truth be told you don't have any policies to offer. Because if you did you'd have same up in a flash. As I've said earlier, I'll be at work paying for the crusties to protest. That in itself is the bigger scandal. Knock yourself out... I wait in baited breath...
