Most times I would have about 80gs of oats with 200 mils of milk and 30 grams of Casein about half an hour before I hit the bed. I am currently bulking so i don't think its too much of a bad idea, but some people warn of not eating many carbs before bed becasue you don't get to burn off the energy. I am 6ft 10.5 stone so I thought to myself I should not be too concerned

Some interesting articles recently about carbs inhibiting the effects of human growth hormones triggered after workouts.

    One such below:

You seem to be wanting to bulk from your current weight for a long time now OP, and the fact that you're still asking question about it, to me, says, you're not all that committed to it.

The most important thing is to eat above maintenance - over 500 cals is a good point and make sure to get it from good, wholesome, calorie dense foods. If you are getting in the food you need, from the right sources and eating more calories than you burn and you're training is going well, then go ahead and have the oats and milk and caesin if its something you like. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
This would also get a lot more replies over in the fitness forum as you will have the posters with experience of doing this.
