So Bad it's Good

I had a rant on here on sat night about a certain "reality" song contest and how it blocks up our viewing schedules from decent programmes or films.
Got me thinking that there should be a good film on tele on saturday nights.
Then i'm thinking of a film that is so bad that it's actually good.

Any of the transporter films, early clint eastwood (every which way you can/lose), smokey and the bandit.

Anything else i've missed from, something where you know "who dunnit" after 2 mins to the unlikely hero saving the world/getting the girl/getting laid etc.

Steady on, mfceiling - that describes every single episode of Columbo, and they were all the better for it.

    I'd rather watch x-factor if I'm honest.

Old Arnie flicks. The ones that allow you to turn off your brain for two hours while he beats up helicopters and all sorts.

Jaws 4, its one of the funniest movies ever made. A roaring shark that follows a family from upstate New York to the Bahamas over a weekend, with some of the most appalling special effects ever put on film, I have to watch it anytime its on :D

c'mon how could this not be entertaining :D

And Deep Blue Sea, screw it any bad movie is instantly made better by having big ass sharks in it.

The orangutan films are hardly "early" Eastwood. The guy was making films for about twenty years before that.

    Shoot 'em up (2007)

Brilliant action parody - The hero (Clive Owen) kills the first baddie with a carrot, kills at least 10 bad guys and delivers a baby while under intense fire, shoots the placenta :eek::eek: to facilitate the birth, and kills another few baddies.

And that's just in the first 5 mins.

The part where he jumps through the windscreen of the van is so bad, it's brilliant. And Paul Giamatti steals the show as the bad boss. :)

    Critically acclaimed : Definately NOT

Daft mindless fun movie : YES

There was a show on a few months ago (Channel 4 I think) which was a countdown of the 50 best comedy films of all time.

I think they should just start showing them one per Saturday and then you get different ones on like Christmas and Easter.

I wouldn't say no to some awful horror movies either- Evil Dead II, Braindead, Revenge Of Billy The Kid, Return Of The Living Dead, Toxic Avenger... and so on. That would keep me entertained and stupid :D

TG4 usually has a pretty decent movie on Saturday nights, although I just download most stuff or watch 4OD on Youtube.

I was actually thinking of opening a €1 cinema and just show a bunch of old B movie stuff. I wonder if it'd be worth doing over here, in the States they have $1 cinemas that show movies after they're dropped from the major cinemas.

Keep me a seat on a nightly basis. If there was a place showing these kinda flicks on the big screen I'd be there as often as possible.

So bad it's good is any film riffed by MST3K or Rifftrax.

I think they should start showing MST3K on RTÉ!

The Punisher (with Dolph Lundgren) was on one of the movie channels the other night. It was about a cop whose family was killed by gangsters so he went around killing criminals as revenge. Then he rescued a busload of gangsters children from the Yakuza. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

A friend and I had the same idea, but were worried about copyright and insurance problems. The idea of an underground cinema is more appealing though (underground as in secret, not literally underground. Although that could be cool too!).

It may not be a profitable idea, but it'd be a hell of a lot of fun.

Arnie films - Bar the ones that are actually good in their own merits (Predator, Conan, Terminator films, Total Recall), I mean the daft as a brush ones like Commando, The Running Man, etc.

"I leeve to see yuu eet that contwact.......but I hope yuu leeve enough ruum for ma fist because I'm gonna ram it into yur stomak.........and break YUR GODDAMN SPIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEENNNEE!!! NNNNNNNNNNAAAARRRRGGHHH!!!"

Turkish copycat movies like Rambo, Star Wars, Superman.........you HAVE to see these for pure comedy. Turkish Superman gives probably one of the best bitch-slaps in celluloid history.

90's action movies like Con Air, The Rock, Face/Off, Demolition Man, Cliffhanger, Eraser.

80's music..........and I don't mean the actual catchy, well-written stuff. I'm talking about stuff like The Safety Dance :pac: The cheesier and synthier it is the better!!

These aren't bad at all but the old spoof movies like Airplane!, Top Secret!, The Naked Gun movies, Hot Shots 1 & 2, Don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood, and the TV Shows like Police Squad and Sledgehammer ("Yoghurt-sucking mutant!")

The Rocky movies, the only time you'll see boxing done in the most inefficent manner. All they do is stand there in the ring clobbering the shìte out of each other, each punch sounds like a million cannons going off!............and don't forget those montages, either!! :D

So you are saying that if you were in charge you would get rid of the X-Factor and instead shows films. The X-Factor may not be top quality TV but it pulls in millions of viewers; and you would replace it with a film that would only get a fraction of the rating. I wouldnt leave you in charge of the the remote never mind a TV station. Jesus is it any wonder the country is ****ed if people operate like this.

A jungle stage set that so fake it would have been laughed at in the 80's...?
