Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't get it personally as I've never been a fan of the franchise.

Anyone thinking of seeing Skyline in the cinema despite it's woeful reviews?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

That has DVD written all over it. Looks like they took the worst parts of the day after tomorrow, 2012 etc and added aliens.

Could someone throw up some spoiler tags and tell me what exactly sets it apart from other alien movies though?

No need for spoiler tags as the answer (from what I have read) is simply, nothing! It was directed by the Brothers Strauss (of Alien Versus Predator Requiem infamy), so it's not exactly stellar stuff. The main praise it get's is that for a special effects heavy film it had avery low budget (some $12 million).

Anyone got the Alien BluRay box set yet (worth a purchase)?

Got to love the cheese metal.

I have a dismembered lock of hair from the female members that went flying into the crowd during their Dublin gig.

Do any of you have any secret guilty pleasures ?

I'm a fan of Tom Jones!! (what a legend!)

Whats the best gig you have been to?

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

I can't decide between these, so I'll list them all:

    Converge this year in Whelans
Esoteric last year at Dublin Doom Day in Fibbers
Yob at the Roadburn Festival this year

(this year's been amazing for gigs for me).

    Question:
Do you think it's time we unleashed a vampire on Dáil Éireann?
