Arsenal face another test of their title credentials against an Everton side on a seven-match unbeaten run.

Newcastle were the last team to beat the Toffees almost two months ago and David Moyes' side are now starting to justify their pre-season tag of European contenders.

They were catapulted into the top half of the table on the back of a superb October but have since been held to draws by Blackpool and Bolton.

Jermaine Beckford rescued a point for Evertonagainst the Trotters in midweek with a stunning equaliser after coming on as a substitute, and will once again be looking to feature on Sunday.

But he may have to settle for another late cameo if Moyes decides to keep faith in Louis Saha or go with the power of Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Marouane Fellaini begins a three-match suspension after being shown a straight red card for kicking out at Paul Robinson, which Moyes admitted was a 'stupid' act of retaliation.

There will have to be a reshuffle in midfield and John Heitinga could be given the nod, although Jack Rodwell is also in contention after recovering from ankle ligament damage.

Leon Osman (ankle), Victor Anichebe (knee) and Ross Barkley (broken leg) remain on the sidelines.

    Arsenal news

Arsenal bounced back from a surprise home defeat to Newcastle last Sunday with a hard-fought 2-0 triumph at Wolves in midweek.

The Gunners have also been boosted by results elsewhere, with Chelsea's defeat to Liverpool at the weekend and the goalless Manchester derby meaning they have not lost too much ground on the leaders.

Arsene Wenger's men nevertheless remain five points adrift of the Blues and will be determined to avoid any more slip-ups.

Wenger plans to freshen up his starting XI so there could be recalls for the likes of Samir Nasri and Theo Walcott.

Kieran Gibbs may also be available again following a short spell out with an ankle knock, while Abou Diaby is not too far away from a return to fitness following a troublesome ankle knock.

    Possible starting XIs
Everton: Howard, Neville, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Coleman, Heitinga, Arteta, Pienaar, Cahill, Yakubu.

Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Squillaci, Djourou, Clichy, Song, Wilshere, Fabregas, Walcott, Nasri, Chamakh.

    Come on the Gunners :)

Considering who we rested midweek I reckon this is a good shout at the Starting XI. Although Arshavin will start in place of one of Nasri or Walcott maybe.

Arsenal need to capitalise on United slip up yesterday.

The team has the ability to do so. Fingers crossed they play to the best of their ability.

If Cesc gets back to his best they will win.

There isn't room for him either. It was always going to be him or RVP.

If Pienaar had have made that tackle in the 30th. minute as opposed to the first it would have been a yellow.

He'd still be tired. Arsene lets him go to the park Sunday morning to play with the other kids.

Why are we in yellow? Isn't it always red at Goodison?

Looked like he was confused as to why he was so far in to the box and still had the ball.

Sagna you wee beast ya. (FF purposes)

Have to say though, Everton are looking good despite going behind. They've been a bit unlucky.

I think they are shoite and cant see them getting a goal this side of praise heaped on woy hodgson.

should have got a free kick on the edge of the box though
