I have a big night out next Saturday and was wondering if anyone could advise me of a way to drop a few pounds in the next week with in terms of exercise and diet. and before anyone blows a gasket, I am not going to use lipotrim or any of those, just if someone could tell me what foods to eat and to avoid that would make a big difference over the next week. if anyone has been in the same boat, i would love to have your input

You could try something like the 80/10/10 diet. Very high nutrition intake with low levels of fat. I'm not too up on it myself but I've 2 friends who would stand by it. Not so much a diet, just a way of eating with apparent very good results. It's basically a lot of veg, greens especially, with fruit and then some seeds and things too. There's info on youtube/google about it.

Nothing you can do will make you loose enough weight to make a noticeable visual difference in 6 days.

Also the 80 10 10 diet sounds atrocious, its a raw vegan diet consisting of nothing but fruit and veg with an avocado or some nuts every second day. A completely unbalanced diet that I couldn't imagine would ever leave you feeling satisfied and having only tiny amounts of fat and protein a day would leave you deficient in other areas.

Can you expand on that? As I said, I don't know enough about it, or nutrition in general, to back it up, I'm just basing it on a very low fat, high veg and fruit point of view.

If you have a poochy belly, giving up wheat & all processed/refined carbs for the week will definitely flatten it in my experience.
There's a dvd called Jillian Michaels 30 day shred (clips on youtube)that I've found excellent in the past too.

Ciaran500 : i think it's most balanced diet for humans for longer term. Maybe take a read that book 80/10/10 ? (can loan you) - eye opener... about 7 month doing on it (with some gaps) or "China Study" (biggest nutritional study done on earth) or maybe start from these review about thorough daily routine of ultraathletes thriving on this model (24h cyclists, marathon runners) in Dr. Doug Graham blog http://foodnsport/blog

We almost no need proteins - we need proteins building blocks - amino acids.
We almost no need fats - we mostly need fat building blocks - fatty acids.

Fruits has best nutrition value to calories rate.
Greens are best for mineralising us and keeping alcaline.

Pokiesboo: Might be too late for now, it's not easy to outbrainwash yourself from tens of years of conventional so much addictive eating.

But never too late for other part of your life. Why prepare for 1 day, when you can prepare for rest of your life. Which is your target ;)

It's also worth to try to see how much cleansing symptoms you will face
So try. It's most healthiest model of losing weight, without losing nutrition

Hmm amino acids prevent muscle being used for energy.
So how much protein then do you reckon we need and what is the energy sources if it isnt carbs and protein? Especially for an athelete who burns alot of carbs and wishes to train for longterm energy levels(protein and fat based energy) as appose to explosive energy levels(carbohydrates).
Afaik you can train your body to burn slow or fast depending on your diet and exercise.

Go carb free, high protein, train everyday and drink about
Four litres of water.it clears your system and you should drop a good few pounds

A "good few pounds" isn't possible in a week

In my experience even on a fad diet after only a week the scales will show more progress than the mirror or your wardrobe since most of the weight lost in the first few days is fluid and not fat.

You can't lose a noticeable amount of weight in six days. Even if you ate nothing at all, you'd only lose about 3lb of fat. You can reduce bloatedness though by just eating a little less and wearing control pants.

Regardless of whether or not you can lose much, if you eat well for a week and do exercise, you'll subconsciously feel a lot more confident on the day/night in question if you've been very healthy that week.
