is beetroot good for you? i eat the pickeled one in the jar but was told it has no nutritional value as all the goodness is boiled out of it. is this true?

i dont mean just pickled beetroot but also the beetroot that is vacuum packed. basically is the 'processed' beetroot good for you or are we better off eating it 'raw'

Some interesting stuff out there regarding beetroot juice.

I actually tried this, (yes, every single bandwagon :o) and have to admit, I did feel fresher at the end of my runs.

Lidl sell the vacuum packed beets and they taste much nice than pickled beets (to me anyway).
