What's wrong with my MBP's screen?

my trusty MBP 2.2 Santa Rosa is approaching it's 3yr birthday (according to Coconut), and I've just noticed something's up with the screen.
There are black "burn"-like marks all along the bottom of the LCD panel.
Is this is a sign of things to come?
