Always been overweight but I used to have a more balanced diet and do a lot of exercise. Between the weather and a few other factors I'm not getting any exercise at the moment. Just joined the gym at work though so that should keep me ticking over! Don't think I'm putting on any weight just yet (dont have a scales), and people tell me I'm looking better, so I may be eating less calories but I'm definitely getting less nutrition.

I haven't been thinking about it too much but im pretty sure some of what I've eaten over the last few months would horrify me if I saw it written down, so I'm going to trial this for a while. Thurs-Sun I'm especially bad as I do a lot of socializing. Very rarely at home. I love cooking, maybe it'll motivate me to start again :)

    6'0, probably around 16.5 stone, 21

    Day 0 (Friday)
    Brekfast: can't remember.. Weetabix?
    Lunch: Steak, chips, onion rings
After work: pints, tequila, mcdonalds (double cheeseburger, nuggets)
    Cinema: popcorn, coke, minstrels
    Then: more pints
After town (3am): garlic cheese chips

    Day 1 (Saturday)
    Brunch: Chicken and chips
Dinner: Pints, goujons and chips, slice of cake
    Then: gin, tequila
End of the night: Chicken sandwich, microwaved burger, can of coke (5AM)

    Day 2 (Sunday)
    Breakfast: Slept through, oops..
Lunch: Slice of pizza, wedges, garlic bread, loads of coke :O
Dinner: Fish and chips, can of coke, iceberger (nom nom)

    Day 3 (Monday)
    Breakfast: Apple, orange, mandarin
Dinner: Chicken & bacon pasta, piece of garlic bread, 2 glasses of coke
    Snack: Small choc chip flapjack
Supper: pasta in a pepperoni/tomato sauce

:eek::eek::eek: I used to be so good.. what a ridiculous weekend

edit: remembered how bad Friday was, added it in!

It's like reading a diary from my late 20's!

Anyway, what is it your looking for?

    At the moment:

If I can get in the habit of regularly keeping track of what I eat and being accountable to myself, I know it'll make a big difference.

From there I can worry about specific diet improvements in terms of lowering calories and getting better nutrition, and how much exercise i'm getting. But for now it's just about pulling myself back from the brink of self destruction!

Wearing myself down at the moment: not enough sleep, too much going out/drinking, nowhere near enough downtime, shocking diet, no exercise.. picked up a bad flu recentley and feel crap sometimes and I know exactly why. Sometimes I'll leave the house on a wednesday or thursday night, and not sit down to relax and eat a proper meal till the following week. Sure it's fun but I need to work on balance :)

I work 9-5 in an office job thats a nice, not too long cycle commute (9km with some hills) with a great canteen and a gym so I've no excuses not to sort myself out :)

Realistically: I'd like to see myself a stone lighter and with better muscle definition

Ideally: much lower bodyfat, visibly muscular

By socialising Thurs to Sun I'm taking this as pubs, cafe, clubs or similar.

You'll proably notice that there wont be an abundance of really fit and muscular folk out drinking at these venues. And certainly not until late at night. The importance of good sleep, good nutrition and a very small to moderate intake of alchohol is paramount to getting the sort of physique you seem to want.

    Lifestyle.....

Your going to need to decide what you want more. To go out the way you do now or to change. You dont need to ditch your friends but if you can either limit how late you stay out, only go out once OR twice a week at most. Limit alchohol intake and dont eat junk while your out then your on a better track. Most of your really bad eating seems to be centered around these activities. Deep fried food, coke (the red bottle stuff? ouch!), chip, wedges, cake etc....
