As the title says, any of you reprobates fancy meeting up for a few jars before Christmas??

I've added a poll here with the 3 main choices of venue.

I know it's early but only 7 weeks till Christmas so 5/6 to organize this.

I'm easy with anywhere really, so long as there's a bar, topless barmaids and dancing midgets

    +1 on Gypsy Rose \m/

    Count me in :)

I voted for new fibbers, but, as the last R&M beers was there, perhaps Gypsy Rose is the way to go. Cant beat €4 pints anyway!

    There's only one mod - me ;)
I've added those two options to the poll.

All hail our Mod overlord! :D

I've never been in any of these places, so if I can go, I won't mind much where it is.

    That's the spirit ;).

I'm not sure how free I'll be to head up to Dublin next month but I'll do my best. I can't promise any Canadian girls for Max Power this time ;).

I'm not pushed about location either. Club Hell or Gypsy Rose might be a laugh though for somewhere different as I've been to all of the other places.

The DJ in Gypsy plays really good rock/metal and there's a great dance space and tons of seating PLUS €4 for Morgans & Coke = a Happy Cherub! :D

I'm not gonna vote as not really arsed where ya all wanna go, i'll go wherever....within limits before someone says The George

Club hell!! Its great, really great classic rock and metal tunes.., drinks are cheap, and its a great atmosphere. Puts Fibbers to shame!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,576 ✭✭✭lord lucan

If i can get the time off i'll be there. Don't know my roster for December yet so i'll play it by ear but i'll go anywhere tbh.

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,239 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

I'll be up for it wherever it is

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Limwick
Considering the last meet-up attracted a sum total of zero votes for Limerick I think it's safe to say it's not in contention this time either.

    racists

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,070 ✭✭✭✭Malice

    racists
How so? Are people from Limerick considered a different race all of a sudden?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,907 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

    Here's an idea!

Ye could have this meet at the end of the month as an early christmas piss up!

I'm organising a metal gig in HQ, Thurles (yes, Thurles) for Saturday 27th.

What do we think of that?

I'm going to get set alight for this aren't I??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,272 ✭✭✭✭Max Power1

Thurles? But thats not in Dublin :p

    Either is Limerick ;)

    Either is Limerick ;)
... and I dont see limerick being chosen either ;)

    :p

We all know its going to be in Dublin somewhere lads, there probably isnt enough R&M posters concentrated in an area outside the pale to justify holding it anywhere else IMO

    How does Sat 18th sound?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,272 ✭✭✭✭Max Power1

Grand by me anyway. I would prefer if it were on a thursday or friday. However I understand this wont be an option for some.

Lets leave it out there and see if any one else agrees or suggests any other days.

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,239 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

This is happening on the 18th in new fibbers (which I plan to attend :)) just something to consider

Friday is grand for me, though I could be trying to desperately finish off college work on that Thursday :p

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,070 ✭✭✭✭Malice

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to Dublin before Christmas for various reasons. I still expect photographic evidence to be posted by someone though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,152 ✭✭✭Passenger

So is somebody going to take the reigns from Malice and organise something?

Venue and Date have been agreed no? Fibbers Rock Bar, 18th Dec.

    :)

I'll try, but it's doubtful, might have to visit a friend in Laois that night - which is **** cause I got loads on this weekend. But I'll know for definite closer to the day.

Seems to be a bit of a festive Shindig in New Fibbers on Sat night too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,345 ✭✭✭Somnus

There is indeed!! A couple of us are going to it anyway so it crosses over nicely.

They made a new event for that instead of just changing the name, It's looks like there's only two people going in yours. There's much more really.
