A Frank and Walters song features in this ridiculously cheap but quite funny short film from New York (just ignore the dodgy edit in the track):

He's also playing in the Marquee afaik. I just don't think I'm willing to shell out 40 quid or whatever their stupid prices are to drink Budweiser from a plastic cup.

Marquee has consistently had a sh*t lineup and one decent act that I've managed to jam free tickets for since inception.

Saw Anthony and the Johnsons with Martha Wainright (was hilarious seeing a big group of scumbags who probably got free tickets somehow leave by Anthony's second song. Also saw Al Green which was class.

Question: How many of you read music blogs?

I've been thinking of making an art and music blog for a while now. I was thinking that due to knowing a lot of people in the Cork scene that I'd probably cover a lot of that and that it would also be a good place to publish pics of my own artwork. I was thinking of doing sporadic comics and the odd story also.

Just wondering, what would a blog need to get you looking at it?

I was thinking of calling it Anal Pretention but it doesn't sound particularly pleasant.

The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want

Bet if I start using their music in my films that 'whatever you want' will suddenly change to 'whatever you pay for!'.

They grouted a downstairs toilet for me before. Lovely guys, handy about the house too.

It's crappy to print onto shiny plastic. Some spraypaints take to it others don't. Annoying.

Well there is that. But I don't like them as people either.

He hates them on a cellular level.

I actually never took the time to listen to them. I heard the name and played half a song when Dudess was raving about them and thought 'boring'.

My attention span is woefully short at the moment, I can barely watch a film all the way through these days 0_0

Why? What did they do to offend you?

I like the Daddy song and a couple of other tracks are all right but thats about it.

Ah I stopped raving about them - they're sh1te. Got the wrong end of the stick based on one or two songs.

I think I saw the singer on Nevermind The Buzzcocks, seemed like an arrogant tool.

He made the fatal mistake of trying to slag Simon Amstell.

It seems to me that Glasvegas would be nowhere if it weren't for the NME's never-ending quest for the next "guitar rock revival" band

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,090 ✭✭✭jill_valentine

They always struck me as an NME product alright. One of those bands who must just live in the NME canteen or something.
