Is it advisable to do cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning?

yeah its called fasted cardio.I never needed to do much cardio but I heard good stuff about it so I might add it in on my off-days later on down the road. Some folks have a fat source like evoo or peanut butter beforehand so that your body more readily burns fat.dont know the exact science behind it..

It's an easy way to get your cardio out of the way - I however always have a protein shake small before am gym be it cardio or weights.

The early am thing can take a bit of getting used to so best advice is warm-up well and take your time getting comfortable with the early starts.

I do quite similar. I'd have two eggs in the morning for my protein (can't cook em at work after the gym), then would do my workout followed by a large protein shake. I'm going to add in porridge in the mornings too but I'm trying to cut weight at the moment. Will probably do this starting in December.

I find a grumbling tummy a bit of a distraction but nothing wrong with it, grumbling tummy can be fixed with something small like a yoghurt. One thing is to keep hydrated so have some water etc. along with you.

You'll find your metabolism slows down when you are training - body will start taking energy away from non-essential areas like your digestive system if you are training for short periods so you shouldn't feel too hungry while training.

It is far more important to get protein and food into yourself AFTER the training.
