I am not sure if I am posting this in the right section-but this time last year I lost my voice for a few days. I feel that my throat is a bit sore, anything I can take to prevent loosing my voice again?

I used to do voice training and around this time of the year my voice would strain and I would be mute for a few weeks! My mum used to give me honey with some club orange heated up. It helped my throat and kept my voice there somewhat, although I would be quite crackily! :D

It does taste DISGUSTING but it might help your throat. Also, keep a scarf around your neck when going out, gargle some aspirin/dispirin if your throat is getting sore and/or suck on some strepsils!

Take a spoon of honey in the morning! It's a natural antiseptic :)

Get yourself some Manuka Honey. It's made by bees that feed on the tea tree plant so it's antiseptic. It's saved my voice a few times before...so I really recommend it.

I used to drink whiskey straight and never got sick during that time. If I felt like I was getting sick(after a bout of not drinking:o) I would up my whiskey intake to hot whiskey during the day. Of course at the time I was in college and not driving.

But now the first thing I do when I feel sick is to go out and buy whiskey(paddy is best if your not used to it)

Hot whiskey has the honey that's good for you(I never use sugar, always honey) and the whiskey gives you a boost too also if your having trouble sleeping at night it'll help you sleep.

Seriously whiskey is great when your sick

You can get Manuka honey that's says 10+ or 15+ on the cover, I have this one that is 400+, cost me about €45, steep I know, but this is no exaggeration, I had no voice left at all, half a teaspoon and half an hour later I was right as rain :)

I think I got it out of Holland + Barrett btw
