I got a phone call today from a recruiter about a possible position in Abtran, I had never heard of them before but they have a pretty impressive website and they really seem to be pushing the staff testimonials of progression.

I was excited about it and started doing a bit of research and ended up reading through this thread. I feel pretty stupid getting excited now considering they hire everyone and the way they treat people seems deplorable. There is no way I could cope in a timed toilet break situation, I have worked in so many jobs and never heard of the likes of that. Feeling like a 5 year old is not worth any money to me.

Maybe things have changed there since the last post but when something seems too good to be true, it normally is eh..

Guess it depends how desperate one is...

My friend is out there over a year and has worked in blackrock and curraheen and loves it's. Let's just say there's ways around some of the strict rules and they do a lot of free get togethers and party's aswell as a bonus too staff

I know someone who has been working there about 18 months. She started on the phones but has been promoted to supervisor now.

I worked there for a bit, personally I didn't like it at all, however, I do have a few friends working there for a good while now who enjoy it.

Honestly it's one of those places that you'll either enjoy or hate. I find that those without any real commitments, kids/ family and so on, tend to enjoy it quite a bit.

It's certainly worth working there for a while, at least to plump out the CV a bit.

Don't stay there too long or you'll go off your game,I was there a few years.Started off in Sky which wasn't too bad.Moved to one of the govt departments where there was a mostly nice bunch but this horrible sneak of a woman was the floor manager, everyone hated her.If she took a dislike to you she'd make your life a misery.
