    hey folks,

first off im not looking for medical advice, im looking to see if anyone has ever had something similar to this.

lately when iv been doing biceps and usually do preacher curl, hammer curl, EZ bar curl.

when im doing the EZ bar or the barbell curl i start to get a sharp pain in my forearm. its a stiff sharp pain and i have to put the weight down and i litteraly can not move my arm and i have to peel my arm off the bar because i cant let go of the bar, then 3 or 4 sec later i have full movement again,

iv tried changing my grip and putting my thumb in different positions but i keep getting this pain,

    anyone else ever had it?

I get that every now and again. Right by my wrists. When it happens I switch to dumbell curls, cable curls or preacher curls and all is well.

How long have you rested your arms for? Could simply be that you hurt your forearm and so far you have not allowed it adequate time to heal.

Yeah I used to get this ages ago. Make sure you aren't bending your wrists while you curl.
I think it may have something to do with your forearms not being as developed as your biceps but again not sure..

I've been suffering with this a good bit this year.

    Happens to most of us.

Have you tried using a lighter weight?.

How many different types of curls does one man need, I hope they're not all in the one session

I had this for ages .I dont know if its the same thing you had but when I was doing curls at the top of the rep I would roll my wrists towards my body if that makes sense.Once i stopped doing that I had no more wrist pain.barbell curls, dumbells etc dont bother me now.

I also think adding a hammer type movement once in a while helps a lot dont ask me the science behind it though.

Sorry ADO but I have closed this thread. If yu are experiencing pain which forces you to stop and exercise and "Peel" your arm off a bar, then you should IMHO be seeking advice from a physio or even your GP, but certainly not a public internet forum.
