    Synopsis
Inspired by actual events, “Unstoppable” is an adrenaline rush fuelled by director Tony Scott’s signature mark of propulsive action rooted in the reality of ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances. A veteran train engineer (Denzel Washington®) and a young conductor (Chris Pine) race the clock to stop an unmanned runaway train, effectively a missile the size of a skyscraper, and prevent disaster in a heavily populated area.

Whoever researched that doesn't know what they're talking about, sure look at Throw momma from the train as a prime example! :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,473 ✭✭✭Roddy23

Cheers to the OP for the find but if i had paid for that I would've been sick. That was the biggest pile of poo I've ever seen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 213 ✭✭underpants

it was so bad it was hilarious!

The link that basquille posted actually sums it all up perfectly.

The only thing this film had going for it was that it was dreadful and (i hope) everyone involved knew this, throwing in every conceivable cliche they could think of! It definintely kept me entertained for the entire film, at times I was just in stitches!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14 joboots

I thought the film was great, at the start it was a bit slow but once it got into it it was very good, I would even pay to see it again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,177 ✭✭✭oneweb

Well it was worth what I paid for it.

    But they didn't even
    BLOW IT UP
    !

Talk about tryin to force in-yer-face emotion overload with the
    schoolkids
    , the
    wives
    , the
    daughters
    , the
    horses
, feck all they were short of were a bunch of cute puppies tied to the track. Actually they sorta had that with
the racoon running across the tracks
    .
The train went from looking like it was running fast, then slow, then fast between various shots
    .

And as for those f*cking helicopters!!!?!!

One for the dumb yank if-the-music-and-effects-are-loud-enough-what-else-matters genre.

Having said all that, I agree with underpants - the woefulness actually made it enjoyable.

<in the voice of the automated Iarnród Éireann announcer> The next train at platform 1 is the delayed 777 service to Possible Doom, calling at Emotionville, Noairbrakes, Snoozetown and Possible Doom. Please mind the crap.

    It is what it's.

i dont think ive laughed so much at a 'disaster' movie. Thought everyone was the same but some woman behind me said 'it was brilliant' and i was pretty shocked.
did the guys estranged wife actually say anything in the whole movie, i dont remember.

pure toss, going past mile markers that were in exactly the same place but the number had been changed...lol
and the marine that tried to land on the train
    ...lol
