Why is DSG so rare in an Octavia VRS?

    Been on the lookout for an Octavia VRS (either petrol or diesel) for a while now, but i want a DSG box. I've yet to see one for sale in the republic! Am i looking in the wrong places(carzone, donedeal, autotrader) or did people not buy these with auto boxes?? :confused:

    Probably the last one..

    Far too many people go for the cheapest "econospec" options anyway, but also have the old prejudice of "Automatic cars are slow/boring/cost more to run" etc :rolleyes:

    That's why getting an automatic generally in this country is a pain!

    actually i'd say most people bought vRS's as they were cheaper than GTIs ***;) so didn't tick the option box for the DSG box .. wiht the flappy paddles option on the GTI it was about 2k extra at the time I bought mine.

    When you get a better car for cheaper it makes sense ;)
