How much exercise a week to lose weight?

    Hi there,

    I was just wondering how much exercise a person needs to do in order to lose weight. I need to lose a stone and a half.
    I am already doing aerobic exercise for an hour every day and strength training 3/4 days a week.

    Could I do maybe two hours of aerobic exercise a day (if I have time), would I see any benefits?

    Also, the day that I do strength training- is it ok to also do aerobic exercise aswell? Again, will it have any benefits? I have just been walking the days that I do strength training.. because its less intense.. and I was thinking of doing something a like boxercise...

    if you need to lose weight, eat less. You can exercise all you like but if you're taking in more calories than you're using up, you'll never lose weight

    There's some good advice in your other thread OP.

    If you put more effort into your aerobic exercise (such as doing interval training) and your strength training (lifting heavier than the 2kg weights you were lifting) you will see better results.

    Ah here, you started a thread on the 28th. Why the need for another one days later? Sound advice on that thread. You can lose the weight through diet alone - ramping up the exercise is not the answer. Train smart, eat smarter, read the stickies.
