    Hi all,

This thread and poll is for a November beers meetup. Anyone wanting to organise some other kind of event should make another thread for it. This way I think it keeps things simple.

Assuming that there is interest in this idea then we can agree on a venue nearer the time!

Thanks wispy, less complicated than my poll :o:D But why do you only have 2 weekends to choose from?

The reason for that was to allow plenty of time for voting and also to keep it simples (like the meerkat suggests)!

    yeah!!:D

Right so where would people like to go, Ill write up a list of the ones in the city and we vote, if we cant get our first choice it will be the 2nd, or 3rd, etc.
    Augustines Rest, the clarion.
    Bullys.
    Cafe Mexicana.
    Clancys.
    Cornstore.
    El Vino in Elysian.
    Fenns Quay.
    Greens.
    Isaccs.
Jacobs on the Mall ( went there last time)
    Jacques.
    Kudos at clarion.
    Liberty grill.
    Luigi Malones.
    Mint at the Macau.
    Puccinis.
    14A.
    Scoozis.
    Boardwalk.
    Flying Enterprise.
    The Club Brasserie.

Now in my opinion for things like these I think it is best to go to a restaurant you would not normally go to, so you can try their food for cheaper.
So my choices would be, El Vino and Jacques in that order. So if everyone who wants to go votes asap and Ill ring tomorrow!!

    About 8 :(

I probably wouldn't be able to make it out until about 10. Working weekends blows...

I'm sure there will still be plenty of action going on still. Come out for a few pints and help represent us East-Corkonians!

I'm still on for this, I seem to be coming down with a bug but should be okay by the weekend. Only have to make it through tomorrow and I can stay in bed to get rid of it. :)

I don't care where we go either. Good idea phoning early as the film fest is on this week too.

Should there not be a thread called Kingtut's Belgian Beer Diary at this stage?

So Cadyboo tried to book restaurants today but a lot were booked out. She managed to book these 3 the following times.

    El Vino at 6:30
    Scoozis at 8:30
    Jacques at 9:15

My choice would be Jacques as El Vino is a bit early and Scoozis is just burgers & pasta so a bit of a waste of the Dine In Cork promotion.

There is also room for one more person as the tables were booked for 6. :)

Wispyman, hope you get on and read this as we didn't have a contact number for you.

I don't think Cadyboo can do Friday and we have to keep her sweet as she organised everything. ;)

If this is still the case I'd like to come, Jacques' menu looks interesting :)

Sounds good I'm putting you down as a vote for Jacques. ;)

Wispyman pm'ed me and he is okay for whatever the majority want to do. I'd be okay with either Jacques or El Vino.

By my biased count it's 2 & a half points to half a point for Jacques/ El Vino. I may have to pull the wild card in for Wispyman. :P

Seriously though El Vino or Jacques would be fine with me.

It did strike me as something I had not heard alright but when you said "pawn off the kids" I made 2+2=5 ;)

Mudokon also mentioned an interest in pre-dinner beer to me - though I think he just likes beer in general :D

My penchant for beer aside it just makes sense to meet up beforehand. :P

Anyway back to business, anyone have a preference of where they would like to meet up before dinner. Closest pubs would be Counihans, Crane Lane or the Old Oak. Or depending on whether the women will be in heels/ the weather we could try the new bar on the South Mall.

Ok there are two more people who want to come for dinner. So I rang the place and they cant do it for nine, only half past. I know it is late and if people dont want to go that late we can stay the way it is, or try book somewhere else?? So somebody please get back to me!!!!!!

This is a good idea as you walk out of the Crane Lane and the restaurant is right there. How about 8:30 for beers?
