Sugar Issue

Hey guys, I really need advice on this before it gets too late.
So no matter how I hard I try I can't seem to stop eating junk food i.e Chocolate, Biscuits etc. the amount is increasing as well:mad:.
Twice this week I've said 'ok no more sugar' but once I get into a shop and see chocolate I convince myself it'll be grand and i'll start again, I did give up sugary foods last year for two months but stupidly decided to have a desert one night and it went down hill from there.
I can't just stop at one or two biscuits or one bar, I envy people who can.
Along with this I have been told during the summer I have pcos, I'm not overweight but with pcos diabetes can occur.
Im just worried with my huge sugar intake i'll get insulin resistance which will turn into diabetes.
What can I do? Persevere and give up sugary foods completely? I cant just have a little bit in moderation, I wish!
Advice would be very much welcomed and any questions I'll answer them, need all the help I can get!

do you eat alot of the less obvious sugary/high carb foods? I find it best to eat little or no carbs during the week and as a result I dont crave sweet things.

Yes! I'm either all high carb or all sugar.
I'll try going low-carb and see how it goes, thanks for replying!

As a very short term solution, try some gymnema sylvestre. This is herb that has the effect of making you unable to taste sweetness for an hour or two. You have no idea how nasty a doughnut is if you can't taste the sweetness. It's supposed to do good things for blood sugar level, so would help with the PCOS, but the big thing is the way it affects your taste buds.

You need either sucky tablets of it, or drops that go on your tongue. Capsules won't do the job.

Health food shops often have it in tincture form.

I'm exactly the same, can't go to the shop without buying something sugary, the sweets company have us well trained. :o
The only thing I found that works is not going to the shop, I only go to the supermarket once a week, and I run down the sweets isle with with my eyes closed.

Ooh very interesting, I'll so try this and eat a bit of choc and hopefully it'll put me off forever! Thank you.
