Ive started working out using weights recently, Ive been doing cardio only for over 2 months now - lost 20lb, should I see a drop or an increase on the scales because Im putting on muscle, but at the same time im losing some fat? Probably a dumb question but just wondering.

It's probably going to depend on your current body composition - eg height, weight and mainly your fat percentage.

Fro my experience, you don't really put on that much muscle straight away. I've read that most of your initial strength gains come from getting better technique and more efficient muscle recruitment. Actual physical changes to your muscles don't come until much later.

I'd just concentrate on getting good technique and making progress on the amount you can lift at first.
