No thread  and no time for the teams - seven minutes to kick-off and, as usual, I'm beside myself with excitement. Another 'Blackout' hopefully with the new rebuilt Dan Carter playing a blinder.

    Bledisloe overkill.

I'll be viewing it as a pre-tour warmup and nothing else. At least our analysts can have another look at the NZ team before they get over here.

Yeah, a warm up alright and see how Dan's ankle operation affects his game. All I want is for the boys to get through without any injuries - taking down the Aussies will just be a bonus but I'm not counting any chickens. :D

Beale misses an early penalty and the score remains 0-0.

Nonu penalised and another woeful attempt by Beale goes wide.

Quade Cooper gets in for a try and Giteau fails to convert. Aussies with almost all the possession so far.

    5-0 to Wallabies.

Awesome defence from the All Blacks so far. Wallibies have had all the possession but have gone backwards everytime they've taken the ball into contact.
It doesn't bode well for Ireland...

Wallabies playing very very well... shame they dont have a goal kicker! (correction: and can't scrum!)
On a cold windy rainy evening you need to take 3 where you can.

    Pitch is shocking.

    Brilliant try by Cooper

    Unbelievable step!

Nonu cannot defend. Liability! Powerful tackler if he gets lined up but he's never in the right position.

Ma'a Nonu is the best centre in the world apparently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭laugh

Big forward pass from Carter there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Wow, brilliant defending by the Wallabies

Don't write him off just yet. Good game so far. Anyone watch the ITM semi this morning.

Great scrum half try by Jimmy Cowen and Carter gets conversion. 12-7 to Aussies.

    Great try by Cory Jane!:D

14 - 12 All Blacks. Great match, with the AB's coming back from 12 down thanks to 2 tries.

creative kick off from aussies, peno chance to go back ahead - badly missed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,539 ✭✭✭basillarkin

That's more like it from Carter. Waikito will now face Canterbury in the ITM final after a one point win over Auckland this morning, the winning scores coming in injury time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭andrewdcs

Cracking game now, Wallabies making a few defensive mistakes of their own.

No point in kicking at all, both sides mixing the attacking lines up really well.

We'll HAVE to hang on to the ball for dear life in a few weeks. If i see a hint of a box kick / territory prober I'll loose my lungs.

Giteau misses another sitter and score remains 14-12 to the All Blacks.

Carter is back on song and gets another penalty. 17-12 at Half Time.

What is it with the Wallabies and blowing leads? :o

A mistake at the scrum. Early shove with no put-in by NZ. Should have been Aussie free-kick.

It's very evident in this match. Giteau hasn't been himself since he missed that easy penalty against England a while back that would've won them the match, and their scrum is rubbish.

    HT

    New Zealand 17
    Australia 12

    Bloody Australia.

Another class kick from the legend that is Carter. The Aussies are lucky they are not down to 14. There scrum is ferrible as usual.

Have you them backed in the handicap, they were plus 7.

    Aus to win @ 5/2.

Not looking good now, they are plus 12 in running now, it is a good game so far, the all blacks totally domiant at scrum time.

Anyone else have the "pleasure" of listening to Aussie commentators?

I know Ryle Nugent is biased but this takes it to a new level.

    NONU!

    24-12 TO ALL BLACKS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭corny

Simple hands shifting the ball wide from a set piece and Aussies were caught short. Terrible defending.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,539 ✭✭✭basillarkin

Ya he is everywhere, 24-12 now to the AB

He beat Moore wohoo. He got his ass handed to him trying to tackle in the first half.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,871 ✭✭✭Corsendonk

Cooper was going to Rugby league, at least they would have taught him how to tackle. All Blacks destroying him by running at him everytime.

Over the course of a game most players will have missed a tackle or two. Cooper has missed alot, Nonu, Smith and Kaino all targeting him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Mitchell in at the corner and James O'Connor converts 24-19 to All Blacks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭corny

Why is Quade Copper still on the pitch. Jesus. They're taking off Giteau instead.

    Nice try by the wallabies

Bring back Stephen Moore! This new hooker is useless at the lineout.

The Aussies set play and place kicking has been terrible.

Pocock doesn't deserve to lose. The fancy turnovers aside his workrate is unbelievable.
