Details on the facebook page "march on the dail on Budget Day".

It's from 7pm to 9pm (7/12/10) starting at the Garden of Remembrence, it's not during the day so there's no good reason not to go. I'm defo going, I'm bloody sick of everyone blaming all the wrong people, the list is now; immigrants, social welfare recipients and civil servants, well I'm bloody sick of blaming the wrong people and I'm going to march to the Dail to blame the right ones in person. So if you're bloody sick of watching our country go down the tubes, spread the word and go to the march!!!!

Right I've posted this on Politics too, I've decided to make a wee project outta telling people about it, hmmmmm telling y'all, be there, I've had great fun at marches AS WELL as exercising my right to protest against stuff that's just wrong. The more people that know, the more will go, so you can help spread the word even if you're not going yourself.

If I get a free Beemer and travelling expenses, I'll be there. Is the looting during the march or afterwards, and do we get balaclavas?

Man that is EVEN MORE reason to march, Disabity Allowance* is a joke, march your wheelchair down to the Dail and say "NO MORE" or whatever you wanna shout is ok really, it's a general march so you can have your biggest gripe on a placard, whatever that may be.:D

*I'm assuming that if you are not on Disability Allowance you more than likely know someone who is.

Summer holidays, dude. There's nobody there during the Summer.

Wait. This march is between 7pm and 9pm.

Meh. All you're going to see are drunk TD's leaving the bar and driving home.

Tbh, I'm a bit surprised at the lack of enthusiasm in this thread, there's threads started nearly daily complaining about government and yet when someone plans a protest they get the piss taken out of them.

OP I'd go but I live in bogland and wouldn't have a way up.

I would love to but it seems like it will be one of those socialist gatherings and i dont want to be seen with socialists. People will get the wrong idea.

But.... it will be dark after 7pm. :(

Does anyone actually expect any TD's to be even in the Dail at 6pm let alone 7.

They will be sitting in there big houses paid for by travel expenses, while watching us on RTE news protesting outside a big empty building, and they will be laughing at us the whole time

Sorry to break it to you lads but they're the same in the Dail, they're sitting in the bar inside the Dail, I'd MUCH rather they're at home sweating and watching it on the news, in front of the questioning eyes of their innocent children (dun dun dun).

One son has swimming, one has athletics and a daughter has ballet.

Tuesdays are days for eating, sleeping and driving. Nothing else.

Ask Briano to move the budget (and the organisers the march) to a Wednesday in June, thanks.

That does actually raise a good point. How will they get a headcount of protesters? It's much easier to do that in the daytime.

It probably won't achieve much or anything but if a few thousand people turned out at least it would show that there are people who are pissed off and are pissed off to a point that they are going to do something to show that. Probably going to be fúck all at it because a lot of Irish people are lazy moany do nothing cúnts.

I think we should support this. The majority of people on these forums complain about our current situation but everytime someone attempts to organise a tangible action its just shouted down. Who cares if its 'socialist' orientated, anything is better than our current situation.

Stop making stupid excuses or being cyber-complainers and get out and try make a difference. We have to start somewhere and if this protest opens the door to more or helps introduce a paradigm shift it will have done its job.

It is passive attitudes like these that contributed to the mess we are in and these attitudes of the people are why the powers that be have the gall to keep screwing us over.

    SPOT ON

You know it could actually, with a bit of effort become something. No one ever forgot the pensioners march, in fact it left a scar on the minds of most TDs not to **** with the elderly for the following two budgets. We really need to take a stand here. Enough with the assumptions about its success rate, forget that, just show up, voice your frustration, be seen, loud and clear and if enough people do that, circumstance will take care of the rest.

Lets be a part of it.

Isn't the 8th December the traditional "Shopping Day" for people to go to Dublin for the Christmas shopping?

So couldn't people travel up the night before and attend the march?

The vast majority of AH users are all talk, no action.
A few years back someone proposed changing the name of the forum to All Talk No Action. The proposal recieved a lot of support until someone pointed out that the initials were too close to the name 'Anto'. As soon as that was noticed, support for the name change fell to almost nothing.

The problem is that most of the users are either students who are happy enough with their grants, or private sector workers who resent having to pay taxes.

As soon as these people are hit, then the mood will change in ATNO AH.

Ahh, who am I kidding? They'll still vote FF and then blame FF for giving money to people on the dole, single mothers and those damn immigints.

Oh, and I'm not suggesting we light cars on fire, break into the Daíl, drag them out by their ankles and hang them with their ties. Not suggesting that whatsoever.

    Training, you say. :)

Target the suits. They're usually worse than those in normal street clothes.
