Season ticket release dates

Does anyone know when the season tickets are being put up for sale?
I called early in the year and was told October, then called in early October and was told November.
But nobody in the GAA seems to have any clue as to roughly when in November.

I love the GAA but its very frustrating trying to get this basic information from them.
    Anyone with the inside track?

Not till next year I'd say. Possibly before the League starts.

Just like last year it will be before Christmas.

It was around early December last year.

In Clare the season ticket (used to be "debenture cards") used to be announced in the November county board meeting and released a couple of weeks after usually end of November/start of December

The 2011 GAA Season Ticket will go on public sale on 10th November 2010.

As an existing GAA Season Ticket holder you will be given the option to renew in advance of this date. You can expect an email on Monday 7th November outlining the steps to take during the purchase process.

Here's to another great GAA season!

Had one of these last year and this year. One of the better things the GAA have done for match going fans and fantastic. Will definitely be renewing again this year.

The only thing is your kind of committed to travel to away matches to get your values worth which is a fair expense

It can make it a nice way to see the country though to go to all the matches, you know well in advance so you can make weekends out of it, change from the norm and all that :)

+1 - fantastic idea and i've had mine since it started - saved at least €30-40 every year - and if I couldn't get a friend got the use of it.

Can I ask those of you that had one last year, at matches in Croker where you went with another person who had a season ticket, were you able to sit next to them?
I'm thinking of buying myself and the auld lad one for Christmas but I'd prefer to sit next to him in Croker. I had one two seasons ago when all you had to do was arrive at the stadium and you got your ticket. But I know it was different last season in that you printed it out beforehand.

So no ID required going in? You can pass it around to ensure you get over the 60% mark and thus be able to purchase a ticket if you're county are in the final?

I had 2 last season (on the same account). Both tickets for Croke Park were always next to each other when I went to print them and also Block 306 every time from what I can remember

As I said last year it's a fantastic idea but impractical for me unless they add an option of getting terrace tickets for Championship games. I emailed them about this last year and they said while it wouldn't be implemented in time for 2010, they'd consider it for the future. So I've just emailed them again there now and I'll see what they say.

When you go into croke together you go through the season ticket style ( block c i think it was ) and you are given a printed ticket for section 305, if there is a group you can all be seated together, but you have to arrive together.;)

This year you had to email them before hand as seats were allocated on a pdf style ticket that you printed out before hand.

Worked fine even for the all ireland final

Are you still entitled to concession in the Cusack stand for All Ireland championship games. Also if the Dublin Tipp game is a double header with the footballers against Cork at Croker how will that work out. Will you still be able to watch the hurlers play if you have a hurling season ticket.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,172 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

Also would anyone know if they will be doing away with student admission costs to league games. A friend of mine said they would. There would onyl be concession for OAPs for 2011

Concessions are available in the Cusack and Davin stands for all games apart from the Football and Hurling finals. If it's a double header you could watch both games no problem, once a seat is taken it can't be resold. I havn't heard anything about them doing away with the student concessions, it would seem very doubtful that they would.

Yeah, I'd love a terrace option as that's where I always go to in Parnell Park and then obviously onto the Hill for the summer.

    Got this email yesterday afternoon

    a chara,

We hope this finds you well. We are still experiencing technical difficulties due to circumstances with a 3rd party and there is a further delay on the sale of GAA Season Tickets.

Please note all existing GAA Season Ticket holders will get a chance to renew their GAA Season Tickets.

Again apologies for any inconvenience. We will be in touch by e-mail as soon as we are up and running, hopefully within the next couple of days.

    Le meas,

    GAA Ticket Office.

If you get one of these will you get first call on the Championship matches. I went to all the Dublin matches last year but was a bit pissed off had it got to the final, I wouldn't have got a ticket.

You have to buy a ticket for every championship game (which you'd be going to anyway), you get €5 off the regular price. As long as you go to 60% of league and championship games you are certain of an AI final ticket if your county gets there. Also the seats are brilliant. In croker they are block 304 and 305 lower Cusack

... And just to point out for those newer members. When it gets to the champuonship games you get an opt out game. So if you know in advance that you won't be available to make a game you can email and avoid having to pay for that one game. I believe in 2011 you will get a second opt out game if you make it to the 5th championship game - not too many of us will have to worry about that though !!!
