I cannot let this one go, this must be highlighted.

I actually remember the radio program. It was the morning of September 15th, 2004. I was listening to the radio and then I heard this (info in link). I could not beleive what was being said. How utterly despicable. How can RTE give this guy the Late Late Show gig?

bit late off the mark  and there is a difference between making a crude joke and thinking cruelty to cats is funny

That was six years ago, forget about it!

I haven't listened to the clip, but the time to do something about it is there and then, not 6 years later.

The complaint was upheld. Nothing happened though (no surprise there then).

I made this thread to highlight this incident (as many people probably don't know about it). Cruelty to animals is no laughing matter.

Fair play to you OP for complaining about it, even if it was a while ago.
Too many commentators in this country, not enough do-ers.

Do you mean me? If so, thank you.

Edit: Does OP mean 'Original Poster'?

Neither is Ryan Tubridy. He is lame like his cousin. His cousin posted on boards before incidentally.

to put him in a much more positive light.

This was 6 years ago too. I was very unimpressed by him.

Yes - lots of stuff was removed from the thread to make him look good instead of bad.

Before I clicked on the links, I thought he'd posted in this forum commenting on Tubridy's comments about the cat... The above threads have nothing whatsoever to do with animal welfare... I'm confused as to why they were mentioned here?

Well done for complaining. RT is one of many in Ireland who consider animal cruelty worthy of a laugh. For example:

Dara O'Briain referred to Greyhounds going on their holidays to Spain. Google Galgos if you can't see the offence. He also owned a Greyhound that featured in 3 Men go to Ireland - the program didn't mention that the dog was killed during a race.

Hector referred to scummy greyhounds on his Australia TV show.

I emailed 2FM about this 6 years ago. They didn't have the courtesy to reply.
