    Not much of a difference OP.

    However, both sets are very light, and you'll grow out of them in no time. Also, I don't think they'd be sturdy/robust.

    Why not invest your money in something that will last a little longer and that you'll get more use out of?

    Thanks for the reply but Im female so doubt I will ever get to lift 140kgs . Have just out grown the light dumbells i have at home so want to upgrade a bit. Are york not a good make?

    they're both fine though you might notice any damage to the finish more readily with the chrome weights

    As it is only a tiny bit more I would go for chrome. A lot of my black york plates have some rust on them. My irish lifting ones are in perfect condition, far better paint job, they should really start selling the standard sets again. But as mentioned the chrome may chip off if it is not too good a job.

    I have 2 20kg irish lifting plates, these are good for deadlifts as it will raise the bar up off the ground, you only get 5kg plates in that kit which will be very low.
