Replacing Petrol Engine with Diesel

Currently have a 5.0L V8 Engine in a 25ft Sports Cruiser, but the engine has suffered from last winter's freeze. Looking at replacing the block.

Has anyone had experience replacing a petrol engine with a diesel engine. Where did you source the engine, did you have to change the sterndrive, and what sort of budget is involved.

Also would be interested to know where to source a short block for a OMC 5.0L Cobra Engine.

    Thanks

Hi there I have done it and it's to hard. The outdrive will still fit as you will use the old flywheel bolted to the new engine, you will also have to clean out your fuel tank, lines and a new filter also you need to run a new ignition switch that will heat your plugs.
These guy's should be able to get you a block.
