Hi all, thought I'd start a thread so everyone can list their in game names so we can all add each other and form platoons etc.
Might be an idea to include your tanks too.

I upgraded to a tank killer and promptly died in 2 seconds to everything. I've now got a T26 and started to get in some kills or at least some damage and things are staaaarting to make sense now.

The game totally lacks leadership. I could see it being way more fun in clan matches.

After a bit of experience you won't need to be told what to do, you'll find that during matches you'll know what to do instinctively after a while,

As a medium tank you'll be expected to support heavy tank advances or act as a screen for the heavies against other medium tanks.
As a tank destroyer you'll be expected to defend arty and your base or on pushes to add firepower to the advancing heavies.
As a heavy tank you'll be expected to advance the line, hug cover and fight other heavies.
As a light tank you'll be expected to scout for the heavies and arty or defend your arty in the opening minutes against opposing light tanks.
As an arty piece you'll be expected to batter the opposing heavy tanks or act as a counter battery.

It's all about practice young kommandant.

Nope. You're allowed post screenies too.

That element of the beta passed a LONG time ago. That was only during the closed beta, months ago.

The game is no longer in the European closed beta phase.

IMHO a TD is one of the worst options to protect arty. A scout or medium tank can run rings around a TD.

early TD's yeah, but StuG, PgPz IV, Su-85 and other tier 5 to tier 7 TD's can do the job well, a StuG III can outrun and outmaneuver a scout tank on short sprints.

I have a JagdPanther now. Generally if I don't keep on moving once a scout shows up then their arty gets me. Once I hit the scout then it's curtains for them but good scouts will use my difficulty in moving my turret against me.

3 US tanks into the mix now, at the expense of a pair of Russians!

Really enjoying the US tanks, something different! The M37 is actually a very capable SPG, and the M3 Lee is super at range. I've regularly got 4+ kills per round with it.

Its armour is very weak though....

The T1 I've only just bought last night, so haven't formed an opinion on it yet!

All a scout has to do is hit you in the tracks, and its game over. TD's should not be purely defensive, be utilised away from the base, in a sniper type role.

A decent medium would be best for defending arty.

my playing time is generally around 20:30 - 22:00

Yeah I saw that accounts thing the other day - they added that in quite a sneaky fashion!!

T34,85 - I find the 'cyclone filter' add-on is a must for this, otherwise it just turns into a snail after one hit and you get done by arty.

KV-2 was, in real life, a terrible, tank, but a very heavily armed and armoured support vehicle. But what it did have was a 152mm cannon. That's basically insta-kill on anything found at the same tier as KV-1 or below in the game.

Now I'm at:

Churchill. Give it a rammer and 100% crew, the thing's an autocannon.

3001(DB). Short 88, it's a tough little bugger, mobile, but not very hard-hitting for its tier. Passing through on the way to Panther.

Mk VI. Long 88 gives it plenty of punch, but I think I'll stop the German heavy line at this point. Unconvinced it's worth moving to the King Tiger, and may use the slot for something else entirely.

StuG III. Old reliable. Still waiting for the patch to drop it down a tier. Currently I keep getting put into battles against vehicles I just can't kill. Give it a rammer with the long 75, trust me.

JagdPanther. With the long 88 it's quite dangerous, but it's surprisingly vulnerable as well. This one's not a keeper.

Hummel. It's not the moneymaker it used to be, but it still turns a moderate profit. The inaccuracy and long aim time make it somewhat frustrating, though. I think this will be retired when the GWPanther makes 'elite'.

GWPanther. I'm not seeing this as a massive improvement on the Hummel. Turret is handy, but the gun seems to be about, effectively, the same. A little more accurate, a little faster to aim, but reload seems slower and the thing isn't anywhere near as nimble for the assault gun role or avoiding trouble. Carries a lot more ammo, but I have only once or twice in 200 games run out of ammo on Hummel, so it's all relative.

T29. This one's a lot of fun, once you get it at least to the 90mm stage. Fully upgraded with the 105mm, top turret, and engine, and you've got yourself quite a lethal tank. Just be careful not to show your flank if you can avoid it. Front hull isn't great either, but long 88s will bounce off the turret.

T-54 (Elite) love playing this tank in wolfpacks, I have taken down a few Maus\is7 with the help of 2-3 other mediums, just keep your front to the enemy at all times but its very expensive to run with the top tier gun

T-44 (Elite) still a great tank once you get the wet ammo rack and a good money maker

IS-1 nearly elite and just got the top tier gun with a rammer just need the engine, its so much better than the Tiger

KV3 (Elite) the best money maker in the game for me, usually ignored by IS-3\4s or KTs when a bigger target is with me and then they find out the 107mm is pretty deadly

Luchs (Elite) just play this one for pure fun, love driving fast and circling others to death

Hi Guys...former member in TIICD and now B-IE...Played this game since sep 2011...and its ***** addictive...:D
Got whole Russian Fleet ( long time since kv3 but in my mem it was a bloddy good tank...until I got IS ) T95 and a buch of German top tiers...:rolleyes:
Sold my American T95 but will buy it back in the future maybe...My latest Is Tier IX AMX50 120 with 120mm cannon...Yeah a froggy :eek:... just kidding...its an exellent tank if played right...not an attack and be in the front action type of a tank but a roaming around killing here and there hiding a lot when reloading...:) 45-50 sec of reload time or more...havnt been counting...
First 30 games were catastrophic...was a play style I wasnt used to...well in TD:s but not the same...and if caught the weak armour...well guess the rest :rolleyes: ur dead...so use other heavies as obstructive objects so enemy wont focus on the froggytank then the game gets good...
But generally u could say French heavies are fastmoving TD:s...
Then again...its nice to test something new....but not nice when u get to be called noob and coward just because the french tank requier a more settled playstyle ( leave the bully on the shelf )...
