    hi,

I am looking at buying a piece of home gym equipment to use when the weather isn't great outside. Budget < €300

What do you recommend as the best for a combination of fitness & weightloss? Also, I don't have a huge amount of space.

    Cheers,
    TC

Decent doorway pullup bar, kettlebell or two and resistance bands should come well under budget.

A Kettlebell or 2, doorway pull up bar and a rower....all should be under €300 and tick all the boxes. Kettlebells are fantastic and versatile, the pull up bar will handle pull ups (obviously) which can't really be replicated with any other equipment and the rower will give you a lot of bang for your buck in terms of a cardio workout. Also, everything would fit in a small room and the rower can easily be folded up or leaned against the wall.

I posted on here awhile back and someone recommended a kettlebell but I didn't get one at the time. Looking at videos of them now, they seem pretty cool. Does anyone know if this offer is still on?

Why skipping rope instead of rower?

Skipping isn't great for anything unless you get good at it. this means a lot of wasted time.
A rower is a lot easier to use.

Seeing as a rope is about a fiver, imo the best would be both, so that you can some rowing to burn off a bit of energy. and slowly learn how to skip, once you got you have a handy piece of portable cardio equipment,

If you can afford a Concept II rower, get one. If not, don't bother - the cheaper models tend not to be any good.

Indian clubs are also great for training at home.

just on the basis that its cheap and as mentioned most cheap rowers are rubbish. Plus running/walking will be sufficent for most people and you really do not need the running or rowing much (if you want to elevate your heart rate) if you are throwing in some home based metcons using a kettlbell, press ups, rows, pull ups, squats, lunges, single leg deadlifts etc You can get more work done in less time

Horrible yokes. We have one that sits in a corner. Not my choice of purchase I will add. Rower FTW. Or a good punch bag with chin up bar on the bracket.

Removable chinup bar and/or gymnastic rings.
