    Hi all,

I have a york bench (similar to this ) but i find it quite flimsy. It was fine when i was younger and smaller, but i just dont feel very comfortable on it and am considering getting something a bit stronger/sturdier. Any suggestions? I was thinking of one like this one or this one.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

    I'd recommend you invest a little, especially if it's a long-term investment.

Irish Lifting have some great benches - I would recommend this one -> http://www.irish-lifting.com/heavy-fid-bench-pe-166.html

When I first started lifting weights, I bought a York bench with leg extension and flye units. They are absolutely useless - stick to benching, deadlifts and squats and you'll do great.

    Hi Rob

IMHO the two benches you are considering are not much better than the bench you have.

The only issue with your suggestion is that this is just a bench. So unless the OP has a rack or something else to support the barbell and weights, then this may be of little use to them.

Rob, the same company Irish Lifting have two options which may suit depending on your budget.

    Option 1 @ €130 on the site

    Option 2 @ €250 on the site

What I did was keep the stand part of my York bench as a stand for my weights. Worked well and saved me money too. :D

Thanks for this. Option 1 looks ideal for me (option 2 is just too big for the room i have). I'll check out the website, thanks for all the advice.
