Building on the great success of chaos 7 we will be moving to a much larger venue that can hold over 1000 people.

We will be establishing more title holders and holding more Pro fights.

The venue is a purpose built ampitheatre which is ideal for our show. We will also be taking Chaos into a Cage for the first time.

If any coaches or fighters want to put their names forward please contact me.

    Welterweight Title
    Mervin Mulholland(IFS) vs Ronan McKay(EFR)

What can I say excellent match. Mervin was the inaugural cage contender tournament winner so the first to take their welterweight crown. The guy has the heart of a lion and is vastly improved since joining IFS.

Ronan is an absolute work horse and one of the busiest on the irish MMA scene. He has taken some major scalps lately and for such an unassuming guy he has some vicious GNP.

This one should bring the house down.

    Pro Light weight Title eliminator
Connor McGregor(SBG) vs Martin Begley(Antrim MMA)

    Very excited about this one.

Connor put on a masterclass in striking at our last show. The crowd were highly impressed with his movement and catlike reflexes. One of the best performances I saw all last year on home turf.

Martin is a savage thai boxing specialist who can rip ur face apart like a surgeon with his elbows. I witnessed one of the most brutal KOs I ever saw dished out by Martin in Warrior Quest. This guy brings the pain.

I'm sure the people at the last show will be more than pumped for this one

Really looking forward to this event, I think now with the bigger arena with the different levels will provide one of the best atmospheres around.

    Pro Light weight Title eliminator
Connor McGregor(SBG) vs Martin Begley(Antrim MMA)

    Very excited about this one.

I tried to get this on the last Rumble but dates etc did not work out-this will be a great fight and people will be divided on who they think will win, as a betting man i would be going with Connor in this 1 but Martin is not to be sniffed at..

Great fight for your card, good luck lads.

    Big fight.
Hard to call the winner here. Both guys have there respective strong points and you could analyze it all day. But in my opinion this will simply come down to who wants its more on the night.
My verdict is it will either finish early in rd 1 or go the distance.

    Light welter Pro A
    Dominic McConnell(Strabane) vs Philip Mulpeter(SBG)

Dominic is game as a badger and would step into the ring with brock if asked. He steps up again to fight on Chaos and brings and awesome ground and pound game and good boxing skills to boot.

Philip is less experienced and hails from JK's SBG club in dublin so you know he could never be counted out. He is looking to make a mark on his the scene.

C class welter weight Title Fight
    Gavin Carlin(Evolve) vs Killian Kearney(Elite)

Gavin comes back to defend his title versus a guy who beat his twin brother. This is a great fight for the local fans. Gavin is a submission specialist with strong hands. He's never afraid to step up and take a challenge.

Killian is a great young prospect. He has the warrior spirit and never gives up. I've been very impressed with his all round abilities. He has won twice at our show already. One fight he did well standing, the other he won on the ground.

    Looking forward to this one.

Are you going with new C class rules?

Loving the card already - definately looking hot:D

Im really looking forward to it - I think its definately huge step but with these kinds of fights and with last show it definately is achievable;)

    Feather A class
Deckly Dalton(PCCB) vs Connor Mulholland(Sudden Impact)

Two very bright young stars here.

Connor is unbeaten in 7 fights so far and this is his first venture to full Pro rules. He comes from Emmet McNally's sudden Impact so you know he will come with great cardio and be tough as nails. Great all rounder

Decky has only one loss in his early career and since then has really shined. He has powerfull hammers for hands and a strong background in boxing. Pol Murray has him well versed now in all ranges.

    Expect fireworks in this one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    C class middleweight Title
Paul Brown(Fighting Fit) vs Gareth Loughran(Sudden Impact)

Gareth is back to defend the title. He is one tough big SOB. He brings a ferocious game and is happy to stand and bang or take it to the ground

Paul has a strong background in both karate and BJJ and is thus far unbeaten (as is Gareth). Paul recently won his section at irish BJJ.

    Another exciting bout

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    Feather weight Title eliminator
Kevin Carney(Antrim MMA) vs Paddy Doc(EFR)

Paddy is returning after a lay off and is going straight into the furnace. He was never one to shy away from a tough match. Paddy's striking always impressed me and his wrestling has vastly improved.

Kevin is known for this ferocity. If he gets position on you he will rip ur scalp off. I've also saw a great improvment in his ground game the last time I saw him out.

I'd love to see this one stay standing but will be entertaining at any range.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

In a card that is turning into a complete shocker

    Bantam Title
    Patrick Holohan(SBG) vs Steve McCombe(EFR)

Steve returns to Chaos in what is his more natural weight. He fought one full round last time out with a broken arm. The guy is a complete warrior and superb alrounder. One of the best p4p in th country for sure

Patrick is thus far unbeaten. He a submission specialist with a strong background on the BJJ scene. This is a stern test for him and one which would cement his place in the top of the irish scene.

With regards the new C class this is where we are.

We are going to do a split. Some will follow new rules, some old. To we see where things go.

A lot of teams we use do not want to do new rules. And a lot do.

So what we will do is match people according to their preference.

So for example. Shane Thomas wants new C as does JK. So their guys can fight that way.

Rod Moore wants old as does Davy. Thier lad can fight old rules.

Evolve guys I will let choose themselves but I would side with new rules personally.

This is not ideal but its a good enough compromise which we are happy enough with for now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 724 ✭✭✭Martin Walker

Arnt the "New" D-Class rules just the same as the "Old" C-Class rules?

Ie, Bigger Gloves, no head shots on ground, 3x3mins.

If so there really isnt a problem. The only difference is the letter. D or C if you get me.

If David and Rodneys guys wanna fight the "Old" C-class rules the you can match them with Shane or JK`s guys that want the "New" D-class rules. Since they are the same rule set.

If David and Rodney dont want there guys to fight under the "New" C-class rules they simply dont put people forward. Its there call as coaches what way they want there fighters to fight.

On a side note. Will your Pro A-Class rules be the "New" rules?
    Ie Full UFC Rules.

    Or the "Old" Rules?
Ie no Heel Hooks or Cranks.

    I think that's ridiculous Jason.

If you want to fight "old C" all you have to do is put shin pads on and it's "new D" and everyone is compliant.

Barry, our problem is simple. Most of the bigger and longer established teams in the north never signed up or were even involved in the discussion.

EFR, Antrim MMA, Chum Sut, IMMA.

Now if they are all happy to fight with shin pads on and drop the knees to head I'll be more than happy.

To say this is ridiculous does not solve a very simple problem. Not all clubs were involved with the discussion and it is early days. We have to see how things move forward.

Hopefully we can get accross the board agreement.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 364 ✭✭Mrs Lynch

New rules werent agreed by all and its a credit that compromise is being met;)

Lets put it like this Davy Patterson and Rodney Moore has been instrumental in progression of MMA in this country, their stables produce some of the best and most exciting fighters in the country:D

    Urs
    x

p.s. these guys are "old" timers not only their time in sport but their ages lol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 227 ✭✭mmaireland.com

    And there in lies the point Urs. To the best of my knowledge, these guys are advocates of the following for amateurs;

    1) Bigger Gloves
    2) Same Day Weighin
    3) Shin Guards

These are all provided in the D-Class rules. So, I'm not sure that I understand the need for two sets of C-Class rules. Also, these guys have been keen on a common rule set for years. I'm surprised that they didn't get involved the most recent discussion. But, based on my knowledge of their views in the past - the new C & D rules allow for their preferences?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 364 ✭✭Mrs Lynch

I know for years they had tried to encourage a governing body to trash out rules and wer involed in the few tries coaches had.

Anyway as long as the "community" works togather and doesnt isolate clubs then Im happy:D

    Urs

p.s. and as you know Shane its hard to keep me happy lol:D

Firstly, Sorry Jason this thread seems to have been hijacked

    Mrs Lynch wrote: »

This will never happen and and my view not needed!!

Each promotion is in effect its own governing body.

    It is very simple,

Promotion publishes its rule set, safety measures, backstage facilities, officials, payment terms etc etc,

    Coaches read them,

Coaches say yes or no to that promotion.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21 Philpott1mm4

I dont understand these rules, they dont make since. C-class with head strikes is that not the difference between semi pro and pro.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 92 ✭✭mcdermott

I dont think its fair to the Chaos promotion for this conversation to be happening here. The Chaos team have encountered an issue (as expected in my view) and have put measures in place to ensure everyone is happy.

Its only fair that there is a period for "bedding down" and settling into the new rules. As John F said its up to each promotion to govern how its run - its up to fighers/coaches to decide if they want to fight or not.

To get thread back on track another Pro match

    Feather B class
Andy 'Taz' Young(Tai Jitsu) vs Ciaran Boyle(Lisnafin MMA)

Andy has just come off a very impreesive win at Clan wars. I've seen him fight twice and found him very entertaining to watch. He comes out with fury at a high octane pace. He is well versed in all ranges.

Ciaran is a bit more experienced. Has a strong background in kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu so will be happy at any range. I would love to see this fight standing but it will be interesting no matter where it goes.

A great fight for the locals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    Bantam Pro B
Alan Philpott (IMMA) vs Eugene McAuley(SFT)

Alan has just been getting better and better everytime I see him. He is a workhorse and has no weak area to his game. Great prospect for the future.

Eugene is a former boxer who likes to stand and bang but is more than well versed on the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    C class LHW title
Gregor Lenark(IMMA) vs Ronan Boyle(Lisnafin MMA)

I watched Gregor put in a very convincing striking performance and a victory dance a Maori warrior would be proud of at CC at the weekend. The guy looks mean and acts mean.

Ronan has a strong grappling background and has transformed his physical appearance and Gas tank over the last year. He also won his last fight with a strong display of striking and heavy hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    Teenage Straw weight
Chris White(IMMA) vs James Gallagher (SFT)

James has an outstanding record so far and a bright future ahead of him if he keeps his head down. Very slick grappler and his stand up is crisp.

Chris is making his debut this weekend at EFR. You know fighting out of Rod Moore's gym he will be ready for battle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    C class feather Title
Glen Mulchay(Informed performance) Milan Kovach(Dg Pound)

Glen steps up for a big challange to take on Milan Kovach. Glen has a strong background in Muay Thai and BJJ and brings a good all round game.

Milan is a powerful grappler who likes to control from the top. With the new rules in place for this fight we may see some GNP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    lightwelter C
Stuart Cowden(Tai Jitsu) vs Graham Doherty(Evolve)

Stuart comes with a strong striking game and a physique from 300. I've only seen him once but he put in a very strong performance to take the win.

Graham also likes to stand and bang so this could be an exciting war.

    Big test for both lads

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    C class welter
Ciaran McFadden(Rillion Gracie) vs Michael Flethcher(Tai Jitsu)

Ciaran comes with a strong BJJ background and has been working hard with brian and the lads at Rillion Gracie. First time out at C class and will be looking to impress.

Michael is also a debut so will be eager to make a mark. The lads at Tai jitsu are known for strong striking and an eagerness to put on a show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    C class Bantam Weight
Grant Carroll(Informed performance) vs Johnny McCauley(Evolve)

Grant has a strong background in BJJ. Coming from IP he will also bring a strong knowledge of Thai boxing and will be well conditioned.

Johnny is known for his striking but in his last fight he got his first submission victory and is more than capable at all ranges

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

In a change due to pull out

    Pro Light weight Title eliminator
    Connor McGregor(SBG) vs Hugh Brady(PHK)

Hugh has stepped up to replace Martin Begley. Hugh has an impecible record and is one of the most under rated on the scene I think. He has hands of steel and a great all round game.

This is one I eagerly wait to see

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭Jason McCabe

    Feather C

Reece McColgan(SFT) vs Gavin 'Heamie' Kelly(Evolve)

Reece comes in a with a very strong grapplling game and can pull armbars out of the bag at any moment. He neer back away from a challenge.

Gavin comes in with strong wrestling skills and is nevr afriaid to mix it up at any range.

This fight will be interesting as both guys bring a strong possee of support

would you say it was very convincing, he was gassed out and it was desperation more than convincing. he got outta jail on that one and im sure ronan will be working on closing the distance taking him down then the fight is over with the new rules.

You being serious, gregor got lucky, hahahahaha, this actually made me laugh, gregor dominated a guy, whose is more experienced and has been talked about for a while and also was in the states training with matt hughes and his training camp.

Gregor will be a more better and well rounded fighter in his 2nd mma fight, we will see if ronan beats him as easy as you think

I can't see big ronan lose this fight he walked through his last opponent never gave tomas an oppurtunity to do any damage, I haven't seen gregor live only on video looked ok but did appear to gas quickly but if he works on that should be a great fight.

That was gregors 1st mma fight, he got 1 week to train at our gym and his fitness maybe wasnt there, but like the guy said stop bad mouthing and go do something better,no one on here wants to turn these into arguements but you wanna then sort it for the ring if you even are game enough
