I have been doing the one in Waterford since early Sept.. very tough going, but enjoyable..

Only thing is my weight and size have increased, mainly all muscle..

Just wondered if many did it in Dub

I don't know much about CrossFit: Dublin. Their gym looks great though.

I have bit of experience with CrossFit Ireland. (Also in Dublin, the one Transform posted a link for)
They have a great community vibe, a damn good gym and some really stand up lads coaching & running the gym.
If you are interested in doing CrossFit in Dublin you can't go wrong with these guys.

Crossfit is The Bomb!!!! New Member in Crossfit Ireland
Not sure about the other clubs. but crossfit is the business at finding your weaknesses and changing the way you do things
Try it ,it really works and you will never workout the same again!!

you will prob never go back to a regular gym again

I've been training in Crossfit North Dublin since last year, absolutely love it, there’s also a place out in Blanchardstown, Crossfit 15.

Do you know where this is in Blachardstown?
I did a quick google search and this thread was the number 1 hit!

It's a good spot! Dara's been training/helping out with Steve Weinmann in PTI for the past year(ish) (he was coaching before this, not just the last year!!) so he's very similar in style to the way Steve coaches, which (IMO anyway) is a good thing!

How long has that been there? I'd regularly walk by the bottom of Esmond Avenue but I've never thought of having a look at what's actually up there.

Since just before Christmas I think. They are right up the top, the just changed to a bigger facility across the lane from their original site

I have just moved to Dublin and really want to join Crossfit Dublin (Sir John Rogersons Quay) as it is only 5mins from work. I have been doing crossfit for over a year by myself in my gym but starting to find this very annoying as people keep taking my dumbbells, pull up bar and it can become very busy. I think it is about time I started in a gym for only these types of workouts.
My problem is Crossfit dublin is €155 a month for only 3 classes which is a lot! If it was worth it I wouldn't have much of a problem but from what I have read and heard people are saying that you could go to other gyms around Dublin City with the same workouts for €100 a month i.e. http://www.southdublinsc.ie/.

Can anyone help me with this or recommend other crossfit like gym's around dublin?

Dave McConkey is really good coach so you wont go to far wrong with SouthDublinSC! His rants are also hilarious when he's wound up :D

http://www.ronincrossfit.org/ are just in fairview so wouldn't be too far from where you work! I don't know what they're like from personal experience but here they're really good, 3 classes a week is €90 pm or €110 for unlimited, you'd have to do their intro course though...I think!

Edit: This isn't to say they're any better the Crossfit Dublin, just giving different options!

Dave will sh*t bricks if you ask him if he's a Crossfit!! ....even tho he was one of the first certified trainers in the country :D

Couldn't recommend SDSC any more if it works location wise. (that is to say it's highly recommended!!)

The great thing about the market in Dublin at the moment is that there's really something for everyone.

CF Ronin just moved into a new bigger premises baed off their FB too, which is always a good sign!

I'm going to ring SDSC now and see what the story is with a trial class. The pricing is much more in my price limit and has the some kind of feel as crossfit Dublin.

I think CF Ronin is a bit far out for me as I work in Grand Canal Quay and will be using Dublin bikes to get out there

If you know or hear of any where else, please let me know.

    Cheers for the help.

I've been training in Crossfit Dublin since Feb, def can recommend it.

check out my log if you wanna get a feel for the type of sessions they run, anything marked 'crossfit' was done in their gym, I've hit 4 PRs in the last 2 weeks so reckon its working out well for me so far anyway.

the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the people training there are sound, in fairness it is a lot of money, i try go 4/5 times a week to get value for it but to be honest for me its worth it at the moment.
