Bumping this thread as I had the same question.

Anyone found them to be beneficial? I have a place 5 mins from my work that does them. I was thinking of a lunch time class. It's a choice between a full class of Power Plate stuff or going to another gym (normal gym, machine weights and cardio) further away from my work but only getting maybe 20 mins in there because of needing to be back in work within the hour.

Anyone had any good results for weightloss/building muscle on these?

Just another piece of worthless equipment that fools people into thinking they can get results without putting any effort in.

If you want to lose weight, go for a run at lunch and sort your diet out. Take a look at the stickies for guidance.

Do workouts at home using kettlebell, skipping rope and body weight movements.

Power plates are not the way to go for your goal

If you have to ask that question then you need to read the stickies

    Why is that?

Because they don't work. So of your goal is to actually get results, they are not suitable.

But there was a women on the poster advertising them that said she lost 6 stone and got down to 8% bodyfat after just 6 weeks of using one. So they must work, right?

It'd be a handy wee step to sit on when you're resting in between your ACTUAL training.

Bit overpriced for a seat though.

It is, albeit an admittedly poor one.

I use a power plate to get my muscles going and it seems to warm me up but I'm not under any illusion it loses weight for you.

My mother had one and she found it great for the same muscle problem we have.
It just shakes the s*** out of you, so good to get you going for youre actual work out, which is waht I do, when i'm up to actually working out that is..:D

It's like all the ads for diet pills.....great ad flashes on tv, then a quick voice says....only when used in conjunction with exercise and a calorie controlled diet.. Why waste money if you're going to do the latter anyway.

But like I said, it works well as a muscle stimulation/circulation booster for me, can garantee no weight loss tho. And, I can only use it on a low setting as it doesn't do my knees to good on a high setting. I heard others say this too.
