did it about 4 months ago and do it once a year - tough tough stuff, once you finished and get back to shorter sets / rep programs they feel like heaven

Doing it for the last few weeks. Did it last year too.
Just functioning on a day to day basis is tough when you're doing it!!

Make sure your weight and tempo is good to get the most out of it.

    Day 2. 10 x Back squat & leg curl. 3 x calves

    Day 3.10 x Incline hammer curls, 10 dips. 3 x shoulders x 2 exercises.

German Volume Training, done properly and diligently, is pretty awesome. Yes, it's very tough, but long-term the gains can be fantastic both in relation to strength levels and body composition.

In my opinion, it is best done with the 'big' exercises: Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press, Shoulder Press, Row etc... Furthermore, I would also say that it would be careless to try to perfome German Volume Training with lots of exercises at the same time. Recovery is key to such an advanced method of training. Perhaps an approach like the following would be best: 10x10 in a lower-body exercise twice per week and 10x10 in an upper-body exercise twice per week. Preferably one would not do both lower- and upper- body exercises on the same day as this, for most people, would be too much for the nervous system and muscular system to recover optimally from.

So, to some up... It's a fantastic method of strength training, but just make sure that your technique is sound, you choose your exercises and weights wisely and get plenty of recovery. And by recovery I mean good calories and sleep!

    Enjoy!

I dont know if you have ever done volume training but IMO there is no way you could do the same body part twice per week. If you can, you are not doing enough!

Did 10x10 bench & bent over row on Saturday & my chest is still a little sore. Did 10x10 deadlift & abs yesterday & my gluts are on fire & quads feel asleep.

Definitely boring but still intense (after sets 5/6)
