    Who else has become addicted to Twitter over the last couple of months?

    I signed up to it last year, but since the end of the last footie season it has become a mainstay of my browsing habbits.

    I think it is an absolutely excellent resource for keeping up with the latest football news, from all over the world. The speed at which journo's add news to it is incredable, and they are more free with tidbits, rumours and personal opinion.

    Also a neat way of chatting with people online, in brief 140char segments.

    Always find it amusing when I get a #ff mention too (the 2/3 times I have gotten one)

    I joined about two years ago just to see what it was all about. I didn't really see the point of it though and couldn't see myself using it so quickly forgot about it again.

    However with the whole Cesc-Barca saga over the summer I quickly became addicted to it as it literally is where news breaks first these days.

    I never tweet myself but I follow all the time now.

    Oh and for anyone that wants a laugh follow TheBig_Sam!

    The whole Liverpool sale saga finally convinced me that twitter might actually have a use. Was very good for keeping up to date.

    i've 621 tweets.... only time i've looked to provide info was when i went to the two United reserve games in the summer. Rest of the tweets have been questions or discussing stuff with other on it.

    Hardly ever post but look at it regularly enough. Very handy for breaking news.

    its the way news is reported now and it really is massive. i have an account, but only may check it 5 or 6 times a week or when people post something has been said or there is a major incident.

    good for following matches on the mobile if not watching them, the updates would come alot quicker than sites like bbc or sky and are more to the point (though i love bbc match tracker)

    its very handy alright , remember reading joe cole and ballack were leaving chelsea the day before it was offically announced . I follow rio and darren bent on it any other good footballers on it ?

    Collymore seems to think he has all the exclusive breaking stories. He did break the Rooney one on Saturday alright. But a pet peeve of mine is saying that something is definitely going to happen when you really have no way of knowing. He said Rooney WILL sign for man city.

    I follow all the man utd journos but they can get a bit repetitive...you get sick of everything being looked at through red tinted glasses and my god these people are truly nerds of the game.

    In life, they say you should never meet your heroes, you'll only be disappointed. Although I have no Heros on twitter some people really are better off knowing how boring they are. Rio Ferdinand is a tremendously boring and deluded man. No substance to him whatsoever. I'd go on about other celebs but this is a soccer thread.

    to be fair to Rio, I don't think he can really open up on Twitter, too dangerous. Has to remain light hearted and away from serious topics.

    Somebody alluded to it the other night, but i love the way there are people who don't believe a thing that goes onto twitter, even if it's from journalists, yet when those journalists print the same things in the following day's newspapers, the article suddenly gains relevence!! :confused::confused::D

    I use Tweetdeck to access Twitter feeds. Anytime a new tweet is tweeted... (stupid lingo) it appears on the top right hand corner of your screen.

    Dead handy. I'd highly recommend that application to anyone.

    Robbie Savage is always a laugh to read, such a high opinion of himself but to be fair his twitter battles with Rio and Poulter were hilarious, completely destroyed both of them.

    I only use it for sports news, it's great for that especially the websites that post links to all their articles as they go up. Flock + Twitter and you're sorted.

    Love Twitter, drives me mad when people dismiss it as a "facebook status updates" ripoff. I would much rather read what some of my fav journalists/comedians/actors and soccer players are at than some irrelevant I was in school with years ago. I was sceptical at the start, I remember trying to sign up last year and it turned out I already had an account opened in Jan 2007, my first update was "I ****ing hate work". I didnt even have any followers. Needless to say not much has changed!!

    Brilliant for breaking news, rarely tweet myself but you don't have to to enjoy it.

    Some good follows -

    @karlsentk - He's a former football scout
    @JamesHorncastle - For Serie A stuff
    @dan_bu - Bundesliga
    @bundesliga_wrap - More of the same, with more thrown in.
    @portugoaldotnet - Great for a taste of Portuguese football
    @GreenSceneDotMe - This is new, basically all about Irish soccer, Irish players abroad, at home and so on
    @ghostgoal - Just a guy and a blog, but good twitter updates
    @neiljjones - I've always found this guy to be the quickest and most intelligent when it came to LFC stuff.
    @FreddieBoswell7 - Another former scout with contacts deep in transfer dealings. Broke many a transfer during the summer well before it hit the media.
    @SwissRamble - Great tweets from a blog about football finances. Not as boring as it sounds
    @11tegen11 - Dutch tactics and analysis that is very interesting to keep in tune with.
    @rcammisola - Nobody big here, just a lad who knows his football.
    @MicroLFC - The tactical side of Liverpool, pretty interesting
    @JenChang88 - A lad from Sports Illustrated who tweets some great links to articles on that site.
    @NapoliBlogger - Relatively new, all about Napoli and Italian football.
    @The72Football - Number one for the Football League. All 72 sides in fact.
    @polishscout - Polish football.

    There's more than enough for now. If you want I'll throw up another round of good names another day....

    Same as many people on here. Didn't see the point in it at first, but gave it another bash when I got a smartphone a few months back. It's extremely handy for getting football news, and news on anything else you're interested in really. Not sure I'd be bothered with it on a desktop, but great for news on the go.

    Big twitter user myself, posting and following.

    I use it as an on the go anywhere source for new and updates.

    Mostly for football, android products and starcraft and world of warcraft stuff.

    Have found you find most of the football gossip there first, and the big rumours that come truthful, originate on twitter accounts of players, inside people or journos.
