Most Whey/Protein supps are the same really. Shop around a bit and work out the cost per kilo and you're pretty much ok. You can save a lot of money ordering from somewhere like bulkpowders.co.uk and maybe even myprotein if they fix their prices. Mostly its about taste and cost. Find a couple of products in your price range that have what you want (i tend to just go simple whey myself) and then see which one you like better.

Check out the Irish Online Stores as well if you don't want to buy from the uk but want to save on the cost of buying from the physical retail outlet (some stores are 10% cheaper or more online).

    Have a look at :

    http://www.sportsnutritionireland.ie
    http://www.nutritionconnection.ie/
    http://www.discountsupplements.ie/
    http://www.nutritionx.ie/
    http://www.universalnutrition.ie/

Some products can be cheap in one place and expensive in another so look about a bit. Hope this helps :)

    Define best?
    your list?

    1. Value - Syntha 6 is one of the more expensive per kilo in my experience. They have to cover all the UFC sponsorship somehow.
    2. It's protein per serving isn't great either. i'ts not just a protein supp, the carbs are quite high by design.
    3. It's common protein supps have whey isolate, concentrate and hydrolysed. You can also get each alone if you want. Casein is prob best taken at night alone.
    4. Agreed.
    5. These are important imo. Syntha 6 taste real good, prob due to the carbs (if sugars)

    I've used similar but I changed to a basic whey like Optimum /nutrition or a generic whey from a bulk seller. For example ON is;
    Cheaper
    More protein per serve
Provides conc.,iso., and hydro so range of digestion speeds
    Tastes good

All protein is equal. Fillet steak tastes nicer than road kill but they contain the same amino acids in the same quantities.
Consistency and regularity of intake over a long period of time it the point

If your going to be taking it on it's own as a meal replacement without anything to slow down digestion(oats, olive oil) then I'd recommend getting casein from one of the bulk companies.

I find syntha-6 to be fairly overpriced as well.

    You sure about that?

you really think soy/gemma/rice/whey/beef isolate/egg/hemp are all the same?

    Because they aren't.

what do you mean by the same, pound for pound ?

You said protein is protein that it all contains the same amino acids in the same quantities.
The amino profile is hugely different on some types of proteins.

+ 1 for optimum nutrition, Havn't found any place cheaper for it than hp nutrition

As a matter of interest is the chocolate flavor of that 10lb bag the same as the double rich chocolate? I bought a 5lb tub of that off UN before and had to give it away lol.

Your talking about bioavailability right, which i think it getting a little into it a bit much.
You are of course right that whey and eggs are more bioavailable than sat nuts, but in terms of supps there won't be much difference in the main once which are some sort of whey or caesin mix.

Well that's one point. But I was talking about the amino profile.

Syntha-6 barely qualifies as a protein suppliment imo.
