Subacromial impingement

That's what I appear to have in my left shoulder (I believe caused by either ain inflamed bursitis or lax rotator cuff tendon) - working with the physio now to get it sorted - restricted from anything that results in pain which rules out normal/widee bench or shoulder press - annoying - am now restricted to narrow bench and a whole bunch of light rotator cuff work.

Anyone else ever suffered similar? How long did it take to resolve?

As an aside - during diagnosis we did some isokinetic testing and it turns out my overdeveloped right side (bigger trap - another story) is weaker than my left side - suspicion is that the muscles on right side are not activating properly (probably related to a rhomboid tear I had last year) - got some internal and external rotation band work to do to promote activation - anyone got any other tips for improving/increasing activation of muscles?

    Mod Note:

I am going to leave this thread open for now, but with the following proviso

We can't allow any advice about the overdeveloped right side because

    a) It's something that the physio has already provided exercises for
    b) It can't be conclusively proven not to be symptomatic of the larger problem at hand over the Internetnet

So feel free to share your experience of subacromial impingement and recovery time. But please refrain from providing your tips for muscle activation.

@soc$: I would strongly advise that you take your rehab advise from your physio rather than faceless (though well meaning) strangers on a public Internet forum.

I hear you - I was really just curious about other peoples experience but fair point and taken on board. With that in mind I'm happy enough to close off this thread
