Many of us have been tempted to voice our frustrations with airlines but one passenger who went as far as setting up a website dedicated to publishing negative stories about Ryanair has been forced to hand over the domain name.

Disgruntled Robert Tyler, of Walthamstow, north-east London, set up a website called 'I Hate Ryanair' in February 2007 to post 'horror stories' about Ryanair, who he describes as 'the world's most hated airline'

Between January and May 2010 the site displayed various commercial links to third party websites offering travel insurance and foreign currency. These sponsored links made Mr Tyler £322.

Adjudicator Jane Seager said the small profit Mr Tyler made rendered his registration of the domain name 'abusive'.

She ordered him to pay Ryanair £322 in compensation and shut down the site, which featured links to British Airways and Virgin Atlantic under the heading 'Sites We Like'.

The air carrier had complained that the website took unfair advantage of the company's name and was unfairly detrimental to its rights.

But Ms Seager said that while the critical content on the site could well disrupt Ryanair's business, it did not constitute 'unfair disruption'.

It was shut down for capitalizing on negative ryanair publicity.

I hate Ryanair so I don't fly with them. It's not that hard.

    Oh... no?

    What a... catastrophe?

Seriously though, link? Details? Your own opinion? Some reason for this thread to exist? Too much to ask for probably.

    Ah yes, "I hate Ryanair".

Why do most people I hear say that have no problem whatsoever in flying with them?

Personally, I'm thinking about setting up an 'I Love Ryanair' website. I'm a student, so am generally broke. However, so far this year I've managed to get away to places like Paris, London, Berlin and Oslo. For the two of us I've never spent more than €80 return.

Sure they're cheap as crap, there is no leg room at all, you'll get ripped off for the cheapest, crappiest cup of coffee going, but as I said. I can't dispute the fact that I've never paid more than €80 return for the two of us.

    So eh, I love ryanair.

(As MOL says, "there's no such thing as bad publicity")

Dunno. The usual way -- pay a fortune to Ryanair for a short-notice flight.

I still have my dignity, though. I'm going to scowl at them while I do it. That'll show them.

Huh? I was clearly joking. Ryanair's airports have a reputation for being miles from where they advertise they bring you. Never mind.

It won't be long before they start going up to obese peoples in the queue saying "your stomach must fit in this box in order for you to fly".

That honestly would not surprise me.

    Hi
I am living in London, but I am from cork city and I try to fly home reluctantly with Ryanair once a month if I can. However I have noticed that from October 2010 there is no late flight at 19.30 on sundays back to london stanstead only 1pm and then I tried to book some flights in March 2011 and it appears there is no flights maybe they havent decided on it yet but!!!,
Does anyone know if they are cutting flights to cork????
It will be a disaster as Aer Lingus is a ripp off and they will be able to charge whatever they want now!!! If anyone has any idea what is going on please let me know cheers!

I actually think people over a certain size/weight should have to pay extra. I'm sick of fatties flopping over the armrest into my space.

To be honest I think they should just weigh each passenger and their bags at checkin and charge based on the combined weight.

<Edit: well no I don't really but I think it shoudl be factored in>

Ryanair are great, anyone that knocks them are obviously very highly opinionated of themselves as suggested by the fat bashing going on in this thread. You are warned about all the regulations previous to booking your flight so if you've had a bad experience its your own fault for not opening your eyes or you have been in the unlucky category of people who get delayed or held up.

I can fly home from work to see my family and friends for 40 quid return with ryanair and the leg room is just enough for all 6'1" of me. I'm always on time and yes I hate the stupid song when your early but its little price to pay for a service that does exactly what it says on the tin. Sooner O'Leary gets his hands on Aer Lingus and sorts that out.

    Michael O'Leary for president :D

Absolutely. With all of those budget airlines, the passenger should have to pop their bags, AND themselves on a scale. If the total weight is over (lets say) 140kg, they pay a per KG surcharge.

You have some young wan who weighs about 60 kilos with a carry on bag of 2kg and a check in bag of 31kg get charged $100 extra on the spot for her $100 flight.
    Total weight, less than 100kg

Then you see a 180kg guy with a heavy carry on, and 19kg check in not paying any surcharge.
    Total weight more than 200kg
And I won´t even start on the "overhang" of the fat for the guys who have to sit beside the fatty :(

I don't see why people complain so much about Ryanair. Yes, they're run by a complete cúnt, however, they supply people with the cheapest flights possible which is what most people want tbh....you get what you pay for, if you don't like their service, splash out the cash for a different airline.

I am one of the haters. Cannot stand flying with Ryanair, their airlines are cramped, their staff are scum and they're only mildly cheaper. I only fly with Ryanair when I have zero choice. I always get off their flights feeling harassed. Just saying, cannot stand Ryanair .

Huh? I was clearly joking. Ryanair's airports have a reputation for being miles from where they advertise they bring you. Never mind.

    Subtle...

Seriously, are people STILL flying with Ryanair and NOT checking the airport location first? Are people STILL being surprised when the fare price listed goes up when the taxes are added in? Are people STILL surprised when thez realise they inflight drink is vastly overpriced and not free?

If you don't like them, pay for a more expensive ticket with another airline. Or stay the **** at home. Everyone wins.

Airlines are cramped? That's one of the reasons its cheap. It's only a couple of hours.
Staff are scum? Getting a bit carried away here. Seriously... "Scum?". Always been relatively OK on my flights
Only mildly cheaper? Pay the extra then and stop whinging.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE Ryanair! :)

Going to glasgow with them on Friday morning! :) Never had a bad experience with them! Always smile when some poor sod has to check their bag in! :P

Only thing that annoys me is that you have to put your handbag in your luggage when you're about to board. UGH! I NEED MY HANDBAG OUT DAMIT! :P
