    Anyone looking forward to this?

    Its out in early 2011.
It follows Tanner in a coma after his fight with Jericho in Driv3r.

For more information on the game see ultimatedriver.net

I'm really looking forward to this, and can't wait for the release.

The original was brilliant, couldnt for the life of me finish the last level, it was impossible !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 703 ✭✭✭obliviousgrudge

Yeah, I used the cheat to turn off the cops and did it on my third attempt.

Difficult game, but was really good.

Hope the new one can reach the success of the first one

    Can you say BUMP ;)

So this is only a month away and it's looking pretty sweet.

The Demo is out now (on PS3 anyway), and it seems like a lot of fun. The whole Shift thing is new & original and looking forward to seeing how it works into the story of the game.

Graphically it looks fantastic, and with something 120 licenesed, real world cars and over 200 missions, there could be a lot of life in this game.

Hadnt really paid much attention to it, but after playing the demo and watching a few clips, i think this could be my next purchase.

Loved the first two, didn't like the third. Hearing lots of positive buzz about this, looking forward to playing the demo tomorrow!

Id have preferred the demo if your car didn't go into mad drifts at the mere thought of turning. Haven't seen drifting that bizarre since the Initial D games!

That two car race is tricky! Fun though. Really looking forward to this release.

Liked the SP demo, didn't love it, I'll be very interested in the MP demo ehan that comes out in a few weeks, but from what I have seen it looks cool.

My copy arrived yesterday after I picked it up on the Gamestop sale. I'm surprised at just how much I'm enjoying it. Found it very hard to stop playing. It's got a fantastic soundtrack too. Well fantastic in the sense that there's an Eels song on there. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but from what I read that was the main reason I picked it up. Surprised how much I'm enjoying the single player. Had never played any of the previous Driver games though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,314 ✭✭✭weiland79

Groovy will be picking it up this evening so!

Have been reading about some difficulty spikes though.
Does anyone remember the level in Driver3 in Turkey. Chasing after your wan on a motorbike, you were in a car. You had to catch her before she got to a bridge? I easily spent 3 hours on that fcking mission, hitting a lampost was like the hand of God stopping you.

arrived on wednesday from gamestop for me, been playing a bit of it, good game. It should keep me interested for a good few hours anyway.

They must have sacrificed environmental detail to make this happen in 60fps. hazy effect don't quite gloss over it. also more jazzfunk n less licensed modern stuff please? Makes it feel kinda like burnout paradise..

ok. time to actually play the game >

The Presidents run was difficult but not impossible...just needed a perfect "lap" and a little luck with the FBI cars. Took me a few hours but I got it and once you beat ot once it's easier. Driver was a cracking PS1 game.

I got a bad taste from Driv3r (GTA had me spoiled at that stage), but just the gameplay vids I've seen of this look great, so might pick it up...

more like crazy taxi in comparison to the typical serious story orientated fare in the driver series. maybe that's what irked reviewers most? very different. immature in comparison. and brought kicking and screaming into modern times so I can understand the soundtrack. if anything, the boogaloo that is still the backbone seems out of place. the contrast issue with the car interior that only affects what's the best cam imo.. patch it :/ blacks are completely washed out. no menu tweak either

still, a lot of fun - I read this will be a downloadable title soon if anyone wants to hold out for it. if they had just released it simultaneously with the disc I would have opted for that...

Ignored reviews and picked it up on Friday. But yesterday (Saturday) it really started annoying me - you cannot be anything but perfect on most race missions, and the police cars are basically suicidal. I understand Driver games have always been placed at a higher difficulty level, but this is making me feel bad about myself :) Picking up a few more games during the next month or so, so I suspect this will be on the trade in list pretty soon. Shame really.

i completed the ''story'' mode yesterday....the story mode was very very short and im thankful i only paid 25euro for the game on gamestop.

the game looks good and the mini games you have to do alongside the story mode are also good but i doubt i will go through them all.

    finished it today...
thought it was long enough - about 6hrs for main story, and lots of other stuff to do in between (might be shorted, but got distracted ;)).
Game is pretty good overall, really enjoyed it..
So good - am definitely gonna work on getting that platinum trophy :)

I lost 6 months of my life to that! ;)

This game is great, way better than expected. The 'shifting' is class. Much easier than in real life.

Anyone know how long into the game it takes before you can get the Dodge Viper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,516 ✭✭✭Killinator

What happens when you get into a DeLorean for the first time is a very nice touch,
You first have reach a speed of 88,
Which gives you the chance to 'go back in time' and do the very first mission from the original Driver, gives a trophy too:D

HAHA 2nd person to say that. Ya gotta be in it to win it! Good thing too as I just can't afford to be picking up all these new releases and I have traded in most of my games already.

I have played the demo and I have to say I was really disappointed... strangely though my girlfriend really enjoys it..

Ya I didn't find the demo great but was assured bysomeone who also found the demo to be a bit crap that the full game is a great laugh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,585 ✭✭✭Jerichoholic

Demo wasn't great to be fair, but the game itself is probably one of my favourites so far this year. The variety in the missions is great, and even some of the non important side missions have their own little stories that are quite interesting.

Lots of ppl complaining about the demo, have to admit Ive never bought a game after playing the demo, i think they do more harm than good, ill stay away from this one so.

Just got my copy from Click this morning. Gonna lash into it in a little while but I had a look at the uPlay rewards and I have enough built up from previous ubi games to get all the rewards. Anyone else get any of these? Is the theme any good? Don't want to spend em if they are crap tho as I'm sure AC Revelations will have some rewards as well.

From someone who didn't like the demo, this game is well class! So addictive just going from activity to dare to misson. Just wish you could change the colour of the car when you buy one. Once you forget about the story, the game is really lots of fun.

They removed that part to focus more on the driving, which was an excellent decision imo.

I'm loving this, but am finding it hard to do the story missions until i finished all other missions/dares. :)

I was getting sick of looking for the dares, and was about to give up, when i
finished Chapter 3 and got the level 3 shift!
. That came at the best possible time!

OK, i need help from anyone who still has this game. I'm basically missing Speed Trap Activity 2, which has the prize of unlocking the Shelby somthing 427. Without it, i can't get the Radioactive achievement or the petrolhead achievement.

Can someone have a look at theirs and tell me where this activity is supposed to be?

It'll be handy enough to get a platinum in this, but if i can't do these i'm not going to bother. Cheers! #
    P.S.: Getting nothing from google.

Edit: Nevermind, have to be logged into the Ubisoft Server to see it! All sorted! Now for a bit of online grinding!

This game was completely off my radar until I watched a review of it on gametrailers and the premise was explained which had me going WTF?

And then Yahtzee did a review (warning spoilers I think?) and strangely for him he actually gave it thumbs up...

especially strange since he hates almost everything that is not silent hill 2

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/4181-Driver-San-Francisco

If I had not put money aside for BF3 I probably would have picked this up already but I'll prob pick it up next month to see if the batsh*t insane premise is worth a play

new life breathed into the series. really slick engine under the hood n lots of official cars to unlock. how did this score so average.. particularly in comparison to burnout "paradise" or a simultaneous release like DX:HR? sure the story's daft, but at least the actual game is polished and the driving is more serious
