Good post Jim but I have one issue re Animal Kingdom as the second best miler in the world possibly the best.

The horse has only ran twice over a mile, beaten in Gulf Stream park at 2 in a conditions race, whilst he was the clear second best at the BC he was never near Wise Dan.He is far better over ten furlongs I think and I'd be very surprised if that was the true Excelebration we saw at the BC

Carpothepunk: Going Friday week can't wait, one of the girls is Skyping some one about a house tomorrow.

Anyone going to the Curragh this weekend

    Great post.

Should it not get it's own thread so people can add ideas for upcoming races ?

Jim, in what order do you fancy / rate these yokes, starting with your most likely winner first ?

Yea sorry, it probably should. I'll move it now.

    1: Animal Kingdom
    2: Shea Shea
    3: Dawn Approach
    4: Sole Power

Very risky, I just couldn't bring myself to do that bet. Animal Kingdom could very well swerve the Queen Anne and opt for the Prince of Wales, that happens and you bet is gone. Best of luck anyways.

Obviously that's the danger but I'm happy enough to risk 15e on such a bet. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea though. Connections have confirmed AK's going for Queen Anne AFAIK and I'd be very surprised if he swerved what looks a great opportunity for a tougher race with CDA, Camelot and maybe Farhh. His owners have one aim: Win a Royal Ascot race before stud in Australia - don't think they're bothered which one tbh.

Until the Curragh invest a few quid to bring the grandstand facilities up to a min of 1990's levels, I won't attend. Not sure how they are still getting away with charging people into that dump. The facilities are nothing short of disgraceful. Galvinished sheeting for a grandstand roof? An overpowering stench from the toilets? 1950's decor.?

True enough I think the Queen Anne is the much easier option. Cant wait for Royal Ascot this year The Prince Of Wales stakes looks like its going to be the best one in a long time, I am a major fan of Farhh especially after Saturday :D but if I was to put my life on it I would be siding with CDA.

Slightly off topic but do you's reckon Dawn Approach will see out the 12f at Epsom, I am very sceptical myself especially as he had the speed to win over 5f.

Agree regarding Excelebration not being at his best but when you take AK's physical problems and time off the track into account, it was some performance. As he's had his problems, I'm not worried that he's only ran over a mile twice either. I'm probably being a a bit hopeful saying he's potentially better than Wise Dan but the likely Queen Anne field looks poor to say the least and he should proves miles ahead off all bar maybe Farhh, if he turns up.

Lovely Urban! Hope you get as lucky as us.

Have tickets to the Curragh this weekend, but can't go, if anyone wants a couple free jobs? Away up to the middle of nowhere in Mayo for the weekend.

Cunt :p Hope the golf is going well! Come Thursday, I think I'll try and get 2 or 3 rounds in a week and hopefully make some inroads in being able to finish a round under 90 haha

Strangely (but shouldn't really be a surprise at this stage) Liverpool are a full 10 points shorter than Spurs to win next years Premier League

Only logic i can see in that is maybe the bookies are factoring in bale leaving spurs and liverpool spending heavily. Spurs rely on bale too much, without him they wont be challanging for anything next season.
Neither team either way will be winning the league.

There are many Bales, it is the good managers who find them, he has had his season, next season any good manager will know now how to stop him, I would be reckoning at least half the goal tally, no matter where he ends up.

I very much doubt that. Very hard to stop a player of Bale's natural ability when he has such explosive pace. He'll only get better and better IMO and if he goes to a serious club, he'll be a world-beater.

Your reply is noted, time will tell, many a good player, going on to be a brilliant player, have been stifled, but I do agree he is some machine.

lol there are not many Bales at all, you are doing him a great disservice, he is a quality quality player who has been selected on the PFA team of the year for three years running and is only 23 years of age, it is actually frightening to think how good he could be by 27/28.
