    :( Hey all,
Cycled in and out of work this week totaling 20km, then went to the gym Tuesday and Thursday night with 2 experienced friends.

Started both nights with a 10 minute run at 10 km to get started. Immediately one of them set me straight on over extending when lifting free weights but I think I had the damage done.

Wed my biceps on my right arm was killing me. Thursdays both were sore but not as bad as the first day.

So back to the gym on Thursday night, more free weights and machines.
Friday and today my triceps are on fire.

I can lift a cup of rea to my mouth with it hurting.

Just want to check is this ok.

I have no problem getting through the pain if it is whats meant to be happing but if it is not meant to be this sore I may calm down.

Should I just rest til the pain is gone before going back. Definitely get into it now. Lost 3 pounds over the past 2 weeks.
Whats amazing me is it just my arms that hurt.

Have you just started lifting? It's pretty normal to be sore the next day. I remember the first time I started free weights I couldn't lift my arm up to tie up my hair the next day! Just maybe get your technique double checked next time.

Welcome to the world of DOMS... (delayed onset muscle soreness)

It's that glorious post workout feeling anyone who lifts weights knows. Don't worry about it.

You could actually be doing something wrong if only your arms hurt. Your whole body should be in bits :).

I would hazard a guess at his "experienced" friends being bicep merchants.

That guess is probably well hazarded.
