    Nah not that kind :pac:

I seem to have a real bad time trying to get up in the mornings but only now when it's dark outside at my normal raising time of 7. Don't have this problem in spring winter it's just in autumn and winter.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've tried moving the alarm to the other side of the room, hiding it etc. But I just climb straight back into bed.

Hi, few months back I saw alarm with day light bulb-it is slightly pink light. Before the alarm goes on it will gradualy increase light in the room and than wake you up into daylight. It might be worth searching the web?:)

Has anyone any experience with one of those day light alarms?
I think Philips do ones as well (you can get them in Argos I think) but I wonder if that really works?

I do a "1-2-3-Up" kind of thing when I find myself laying there. I think I've conditioned myself to sit up on "up". So that's how I win the battle. But I agree, I do the same thing in winter.

I've just recently done this and I haven't slept it for work since because once am out of the bed I won't get back in how tempting it can be but may I ask what time you get to bed at or does tiredness come into it?

    Hello there,
Allow me to share my patented 'get out of bed' system...

    1. Make sure your room is warm to begin with. This is the one I find most important; there's nothing than can get me up when the room is cold!
    2. Make sure you have a calming alarm; something soothing, like a choir soundtrack or something. Nothing worse than the grating sound of BEEPIDY BEEPIDY x 1000 to start the day!
    3. Keep a bottle of sparking water beside your bed, and sip it as soon as you are awake. This usually gives the system a jolly good kick in the morning.
    4. Turn on your bedside light straight away- This usually prevents the 'oh just another five minutes' syndrome :)

That'll be 24.99 for the advice and counselling, thanks :D

Best way to get up n the mornings is to just GET UP!!! LOL

None of that ' ah ill give it 5 more minutes' just dive out of the bed, straight into the toilet and get a load of cold water and throw it over your face :D:D:D

I'd have to agree with this. I have the instrumental version of You Could be Happy by Snow Patrol as my wake up alarm for over a year now. Much nicer way to wake up, and it hasn't failed me yet.. unless there's drink involved ;) might not work for everyone though!

I have the room warm, my alarm on the other side of the room and tuned to Lyric fm (though it's annoying to wake up to Marty Whelan. I miss the calm-voiced lady). I also have the clock set 10 minutes fast so I can hit snooze and have 10 more minutes :D

Exactly the right thing to do. If you have to bargain with yourself i.e. "oh just five more minutes and I get up" your wasting the time you could be using to to start your morning routine.
Im a lazy lazy bastard but if I settle on a routine for my bed times and morning routine then it gets a lot easier to wake up.

The Meteor them tune is now forever associated with getting up at 4am to catch a flight for me now. It's probably the worst possible thing for me to wake up to.

I have to agree with what some of the other people have said - I just get up before I can talk myself out of it. At the moment I work from home, so it's very difficult to motivate myself to still treat it like a 9-5 (think it's more like a 12-8 at the moment)!

My old job paid vastly more money, I found it way easier to get up earlier and go to bed later, never had any trouble getting out of the scratcher at 5am. As a rule I find if I have to get up ultra early for work college whatever, its easier than if you get into the routine of getting up at 8. Try running or cycliing in the mornings it may reset your body clock to be more alert early, not arsed at the moment tho maybe in the summer... bed ..mmm.:D

I set my alarm half an hour before I actually NEED to get up... I know I shouldnt bargain myself with the aul 'just five more minutes' thing but I love that feeling of pure cosiness ya get having just woke up. Wouldnt trade it for an extra half hours sleep.
