Losing the stone will be mostly down to diet. You should be eating clean wholesome food, (no junk) at least 95% of the time. You should also be running a daily calorie deficit of around 500 calories to get a fat/weigt loss of around 1 lb per week.

Thanks for that... i know the losing a stone is mostly diet but i thought id try and tone and get a little fitter in the process, plus it will encourage me not to eat crap...

My diet isnt to bad at the mo, the thing that kills me are carbs and the booze at the weekend... so im cutting out most carbs... not all ... im gonna stick to wholemeal / brown and cous cous... etc

Here';s what im hoping to do...

    porridge for breakfast
Cous cous for lunch - homemade veggie cous cous
    Scrambled egg for dinner..

couple of cups of tea... no crap and 2 litres of water per day...

    what do you think??

Appreciate any replies that will help me :)

That will depend. What is your current
    • Sex
    • Height
    • Weight
    • Age
What you listed looks like enough calories for maybe a 6yr old tbh, depending on portion size of course. Also appears to be lacking in protein (except for the eggs and milk if used on porridge) and healthy fats.

Agreed. It's very difficult to 'exercise yourself thin'.

however, aside from weight loss, i did C25k last yr and found it brilliant. I now regularly run 10km/10miles in races, and have never looked back.

ETA- just read your daily diet- jeez, you're not eating a lot are you? you'll never be able for the running on that amount of calories!

coudl you add a mid morning and mid afternoon snack? a piece of fruit and a handful of nuts in the morning? try and add some protein to the breakfast as well- for eg a sprinkle of ground nuts on the porridge.
